The Symphony of the Fey is now underway!

Hyrsam has been corrupted, cursed by the Fomorian King now residing in the Shadowfell following his defeat. This curse has scattered Hyrsam’s power across all worlds, and it is up to you to gather this power back in order to put an end to the Fomorian King’s threat. Align with the Summer or Winter Court, equip one of five special Lutes, discover musical Motes, complete special encounters, and earn cosmetic and musical rewards!

The Symphony of the Fey continues through February 3rd, ending when we bring the worlds down for maintenance on Wednesday, February 4th at 9:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT).

To Get Started:

Travel to the House from Beyond in The Harbor of Eberron (where you enter the Feywild), speak to Hawthorn, then select whether to speak to Winter Court representative Baroness Hilda or Summer Court representative Lord Arden to begin the Symphony of the Fey event. Make sure to pick up your Lute, which you will equip into your cosmetic shield slot!

How to Take Part:

When you have your Lute equipped in your cosmetic shield slot you will encounter musical Motes of different colors while adventuring through Quests and Wilderness Areas (no raids.) Most Motes will randomly appear while you adventure. Each color gives you a clue as to its difficulty. YOU decide whether and when to face the encounter. When ready, click on your Lute to unlock the musical Mote and face its encounter! Musical Motes disappear if not used within a few minutes.

If successful you will receive Motes that contribute to your Lute’s durability and help unlock its reward! Play your Lute again to collect the musical Mote when the encounter is over.

There are two sets of five Lutes, with a cosmetic reward for completing each Lute. One lute does not have a level gating mechanism, but other Lutes require you to be at least a certain level to progress them.

Mote Color:

  • Green: Fresh Mote, easier.
  • Blue: Average Mote, the Shadow is corrupting it.
  • Purple: Hard Mote, nearly corrupted by the Shadowfell.
  • There are also rumors of a special fourth Mote that offers a special reward, but their locations are currently unknown...

Winter or Summer Court?

Take up your journey by speaking to the Summer Court representative Lord Arden to have an easier Symphony of the Fey experience with fewer restrictions. If you are a dedicated adventurer up for a particularly “hardcore” challenge, speak to Winter Court representative Baroness Hilda!

You can only acquire a Winter Court Lute with a level 1 character that has received less than 1500 XP. A Reincarnated character with any Past Lives is unable to take up this challenge. When you take a Winter Court Lute you will receive a buff called a “Vow of Glory” that means you may only equip items that have dropped during the event. Nearly all magic items that drop while this event is running will have a special indicator on them so you know they are usable for the event. Anyone can equip these items whether you are taking up the Winter Court challenge or not. These items can be traded or auctioned based on their ability to do so without the Vow of Glory. Equipping an off-event item with a Vow of Glory active gives you a greatly impactful debuff.

Iconic characters can take part in the Winter Court challenge by opting to skip their tutorial experience then speak to Baronness Hilda. Hilda will offer to remove your Iconic experience so that you can run the event at level 1.

Anyone with a “Vow of Glory” will appear on the Symphony of the Fey Leaderboard! Your progress on the leaderboard and your Vow of Glory is removed upon death. You can see the Leaderboard and track your progress by speaking with Baroness Hilda in The Hut From Beyond.

Helping Hyrsam:

Each game world will be collecting Motes and will see Hyrsam’s condition improve. Once your game world has succeeded in bringing Hyrsam out of danger the entire game world will receive a buff for the remaining duration of the Symphony of the Fey event!

Notes:

  • In Heroic difficulty you can only claim a Mote if you are closer than three levels over the base level of the quest, so for a level 3 quest you would need to be level 6 or lower to claim the Mote. Epic and Legendary difficulty quests require characters to be at least level 20 in order to claim the Mote regardless of the difference between character level and level of the quest. Epic and Legendary quests have the same three levels over the base level of the quest restriction to claim a Mote.
  • You can claim all five Lutes at once if you wish. The Lute that is equipped will receive the benefit following encounters.

Known Issues:

  • Some lower level items do not have their proper Winter Court iconography, but these items can still be equipped.
  • The Lute of the Summer Flight claims to award Horns of the Court, but actually awards Fairy Wings.

Rewards:

Completing a Lute will reward you with a cosmetic item based on the Lute you have completed!

Lute of the Summer/Winter Novice: Half-Cloak of the Court

Lute of the Summer/Winter Sky: Cloak of the Court

Lute of the Summer/Winter Horn: Horns of the Court

Lute of the Summer/Winter Knight: Steed of the Court

Lute of the Summer/Winter Flight: Fairy Wings

Additionally, players may discover new sheets of music during the event that can be played if you are a Bard or if you have a musical instrument equipped when you click on the musical sheet in your hotbar. This music suppresses most music within a certain range from you, but it will be interrupted or not play during combat.

The Symphony of the Fey continues through February 3rd, 2026, shutting off with our expected 9:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) downtime on February 4th. These NPCs will remain available inside of the game after the event so you can continue to claim relevant rewards.
