The Court of Strahd Arrives October 14th!

Not even death can stop a Darklord...

Strahd has returned, reclaimed his lands of Barovia, and is seeking vengeance against those who stopped him. The Darklord of Ravenloft has found a new ally in a being known as The Caller. Their machinations have expanded the reach of the Mists throughout the planes, consuming more innocent lives. 

The Order of the Guardians has been tracking the plans of The Caller, including their presence in the Yuan-ti realm of Silith-tar, and warning everyone who will listen about this new threat. Meanwhile, the members of Strahd’s Court are  venturing beyond the Barovia. It’s up to you to stop them!

Overview:

  • The Court of Strahd arrives with Update 82 starting at 1:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT) on October 14th, 2026!
  • Players will start this event experience by visiting the Mists in Korthos, Delera’s Graveyard, or the graveyard in Eveningstar and completing a quest.
  • The Order of the Guardians has set up an outpost near these graveyards. Characters will receive special lanterns which will allow them to hunt Strahd’s minions throughout the game.
  • The lanterns will fill as adventurers find and defeat special encounters. Full lanterns can be turned into The Order for rewards.
  • Certain rare and particularly dangerous ambushes are possible at higher levels!

 

A Darklord cannot leave the Mists that circumscribe their domain. Strahd and the Caller have found a solution: they will use the most trusted members of Strahd’s court to spread the Mists and Strahd’s domain into places like Eveningstar and Stormreach.

When you equip a lantern, Mists will sometimes appear while questing and Strahd’s minions will automatically spawn and attack. Defeating these enemies will help fill your lantern. Players must be near the Mists when the enemy is defeated to progress their lantern. There are two tracks to lantern progress: a standard set of Lanterns and a Hardcore set of Lanterns. To progress a Hardcore Lantern, the Lantern must be equipped at level one, and any death will end further progress on that Hardcore Lantern.

 

The Mists are spreading. Strahd’s grip is expanding. Will you heed the call of the Order of the Guardians and return light to the worlds?  

We will have more information about The Court of Strahd around the time of this event’s debut at 1:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT) on October 14th! A new Leaderboard system will also be available.
