    Default The Isle of Dread is Coming

    Severlin confirmed on the livestream Q&A today that The Isle of Dread expansion is almost certain, and would be released during the spring/early summer of 2022.

    SSG should design an intro quest around the ship ride to the island. It could work similar to Precious Cargo or Acute Delerium.

    There's a lot more than just dinosaurs they could do interesting things with too, like the kopru. SSG's rendition of B1 turned out pretty well; even if most of the quests were short they captured the feel of the original setting and the final quest was really well made and fleshed out. I would hope that same level of detail and scope goes into the quest(s) they do for the kopru temple setting.

    Cool, I've been waiting for it for a while now.

    Edit: Watched the part about Isle of Dread in the link. They say it will be a full expansion with level increase also, so not just a quest pack I guess.

    I do NOT want to see, e.g., tyrannosaurids with pronated wrists like that!

    That's right. We expect the same real world accuracy that you have applied to warforged, beholders, sorcerers, mindflayers, ... <edited for brevity> to any dinosaurs you are including in a module.

    only one of those things exists outside of fantasy so it's fair ask

    That being I hope that Isle of Dread Dinosaurs remain Legendary level only

    No lowbie heroic or epic version that will only make it feel not so Legendary


    I also hope that this expansion is done right

    Also give us teleports to skip the explorer lag of monsters pathing when players just run thru serious

    Severlin mentioned that there would be an Iconic class for the Isle of Dread expansion, but gave no other details. Let's hope it's a Shaman Sorcerer, the Sorcerer being the last core class with no Iconic.

    I know the isle of Dread will not be a part of Eberron, but since we can call this a dinosaur expansion, any chance for a Talenta halfling iconic with a dinosaur mount?

    They already have raptors with wrists that aren't pronated in game. But they don't have feathers, alas.

    But these are fantasy dinosaurs so they don't really have to conform to real-world science.

    Not really a fair ask. I do think its a fair ask to keep them honest to the Isle of Dread module (since they are leveraging its name). I am not familiar with that module so I don't know how dinosaurs were handled but if that module had dinosaurs with pronated wrists who swung swords and cast fireballs that should be fine for DDO.

    Call me old fashioned.... but either that isn't a t-rex in the picture or the wrists pale into insignificance along side it having four fingers on each hand.
