    Default U49 Preview 1: New Named Loot

    Disclaimer
    Everything seen on the preview server, Lamannia, is not final and is subject to change or removal before live release.

    Update 49 is expected to contain the following new named loot items located in the quests of the "Perils of the Planar Eyes" adventure pack. During this preview you can easily access this loot via "The Loot Guy" NPC located in the center of the Test Dojo.

    Known Issues
    • Currently the combined quarterstaffs (both heroic and epic) only have 1 of the 2 Enhancement Spellpower effects from the sceptres that were made to use them.
    • Currently the combined Heroic Quarterstaffs have incorrect base damage profile.
    • Currently the combined Epic Quarterstaffs have raid level effect values. What's listed here is correct as they should match the iLevel of the sceptres they are made from.

    Is this correct? Seems like the Malleable should give the non-elemental Lores.

    Also seems weird that Force is mixed in with the Elements instead of Sonic, given that Sonic is in Protection From Energy, Resist Energy, the old guildship resist shrines, Shiradi Elemental Absorption, etc. Would've thought Sonic would be on Fusible and Force on Malleable.

    Nah, was just a copy/paste error in the notes specifically on my part. The malleable spell lores correspond to the element that it has spellpower from. The OP has been updated.

    The fusible scepters/quarterstaff look pretty neat, but can I make a suggestion: instead of the 5% magical efficiency (it's quite easy to get 10%), add a +2 alchemical bonus int, wis, and cha. (or maybe call it a "planar" bonus if this is more pack-appropriate). This would actually make the quarterstaff a desirable item for pretty much any spellcaster, and it would be the one place in the game you can source an alchemical bonus on an item that can have a sentient jewel on it! Making a two-handed weapon actually desirable for most casters is quite difficult because it means no offhand orb or shield.

    What is "Resonation"?

    The pattern is a little hard to read since Force Power/Lore and Kinetic Power/Lore are the same thing, and they're in both sets. Is the Malleable one supposed to be Resonance/Sonic Lore?

    Known Issues
    • Currently the combined quarterstaffs (both heroic and epic) only have 1 of the 2 Enhancement Spellpower effects from the sceptres that were made to use them.
    • Currently the combined Heroic Quarterstaffs have incorrect base damage profile.
    • Currently the combined Epic Quarterstaffs have raid level effect values. What's listed here is correct as they should match the iLevel of the sceptres they are made from.

    Will those scepters / quarterstaff's have sentience? If so then they are very useful, if not then it's dead on arrival for epics but still useful in heroics.

    The scepters/quarterstaff look good, particularly given the relative scarcity of solid force options at certain levels outside of certain raid loot.

    Yes, off hands are largely better for defense and offense right now. I understand that getting 2 items is a lot more investment than getting one, but that could be offset with longer crafting process, or slightly rarer components, etc. I would prefer to equip caster staves, but sticking with offhands is usually so much better.

    On the boots and cloak, do you mean speed (as in weapon speed) or do you mean striding? We get 30% striding augments at level 8. If it's actually speed, it makes sense. Or maybe I'm off here?

    Spell Turmoil This item pops and buzzes with suppressed energy. When casting any damaging Fire, Cold, Acid, or Electric spells, there is a chance that you will gain a +20 Alchemical bonus to Spell Power to one of those energy types for 30 seconds.
    - strictly worse than Permanent Efficacy on ML26 item (Dethek Runestone)
    - maybe change to a scaling version: 24 spell power in heroic (enchantment level x 2), 80ish in legendary

    Fortification +84%/+214%
    - insightful fortification would be more attractive

    Aosu'riel's Bracers
    - I think this is the third pair of Devotion bracers at ML29. Maybe Insightful Devotion to spice it up?


    While you're at Cauldron of Sora Katra, spice up three existing items:

    * Teraza's Perfect Sight: Wisdom 7, Ins Wisdom 3, True Seeing, Blindness Immunity
    * Katra's Razor Wit: Charisma 7, Ins Charisma 3, Diplomacy, Insightful Spell Focus Mastery
    * Maenya's Iron Fists: Strength 7, Ins Strength 3, Intimidate, Combat Mastery

    All BtA. Add an augment slot.

    Set: +3 or +4 attack/damage; some level-appropriate stacking spell power

    It comes down to itemization, currently you get more stats out of Main + Sub then just Main. Casters, especially offensive casters, are about packing as much in as possible. If the epic versions can have sentience gems, then this just become pretty useful for multi-elemental casters, otherwise it'll get ignored.

    Why no sonic/Resonance options? and it should be on the Malleable Scepter too so Spellsinger can have a way to consolidate sonic and lighting spell power and critical. plzzzz bards are in such need of love =( specially on heroic
