Default HOw does an existing player in DDO get access to the forums please?

I am trying to help a player who cannot access forums or in game support.

    The questions are:
"I can’t access any in game support, the screen simply won’t load,
I can’t access the forums either, my DDO account is not recognised as a sign in account on them

I’m playing the game without any access to either of these features which I believe I should have access too, as it’s rather upsetting watching other people being able to sort out bugs, glitches etc. And discuss in game issues when I can’t..."

So how does one get a forum account please?
Why is in game support being buggy?

Now, i can't assure it's a solution that will work for you, but this worked for me:

after logging in your account at ddo.com click my account>manage subscriptions>save nickname (after choosing one)

and then... wait week or two cause there seems to be some "antibot" tool not allowing you to post for a few days without even any information about it. I know, i know, most ridiculous, not newbie friend thing ever invented and really di** move to make such "timer" hidden without any information about it, but hey, it's here for X years, it's not like ssg cares.

Edit: ok, i was too hasty, should read more carefully, guess i didnt helped. :P

    Don't use in-game support. Period.
Use out-game support instead, it's - at least in my subjective opinion - much better.

"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

I'll take a stab at it.

The in-game Help window has a glitch where it doesn't load up most of the time. When you get the blank window, rt-click around near the top til you get a pop-up option to "Go Back". Do that, then repeat that process but click "Go Forward". Then it should load up.

    My first guess here:
Game log-in and Forum log-in are the same. Your friend is using the exact same log in here as his/her game log in, correct?

    Cool

Why not, after accessing the forum, simply click the link [Register] (in the upper-right part of the screen) ?

Then fill some needed data and click [Next] ???

The forum alias does not even need to be the same as the game(-account) alias.

What next happens, I don't remember anymore.
But I suppose you need fill in some more info (forum-settings? where you come from?) and that's it.

If I can get the forum display name of the person who needs a permissions check this should be a short fix. Someone PM me the name.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!
