    Default Heroic Wiz leveling tips?

Hi everyone, I am looking for tips on how to effectively level a wizard in early heroic levels. I am a recently returned player and apparently I have all but forgotten how to play my favorite class. Currently I am lvl 9 (7wiz/2rog) and it has been a real struggle to get this far. I am useless in Reaper so I have been running elite solo since no one seems to play anything but reaper anymore and while I have been able to solo everything on elite no problem, it has been extremely slow. The sorc life I did before this one was a total breeze, wiz however, has me scratching my head at how I managed to steamroll through 5 lives of it 3 years ago.

How do YOU play your low lvl wizards?

I am mainly looking for lvl 1-11 as higher levels are much easier due to better spells, more sp and better SLAs, gear ect becoming available. I wanted to start grinding out racials with my favorite class but so far it seems as though sorc would be much faster at that!

I should state that this character has 12 PLs, +5 tomes in every stat and a few pieces of decent early leveling gear like an upgraded Vibrant purple Ioun stone, Crystal cove and Night revel gear, ect so not a 28 point first lifer or anything.

Thank you for any helpful tips (especially with enhancements and gear I should aim for) that you can provide!

On levels 1-4 grab a great axe and hireling BYRON. Do all of korthos, borderlands, harbor. All quests levels 1 and 2. Take level 4 and take Your reaper points, then go archmage, force specced. Magic missle and web. Do all quests level 3 and 4. Take level 6 and you get your first fireball, after that it gets a little easier.

I usually go pale master for self heals and skeleton tank. They have great SLAs and can take away undead negative energy immunity eventualy.

    Depends on your play style.
These days I'd probably go Inquis + EK (or swap in repeating xbow feat if you don't have Inquis), and go pew-pew till level 10 or so, until your spells become potent enough.
Skellie from PM can tank for you and even deal some damage.
For group play, Enchantment works best. Dispense mass holds and watch melees swinging happily.

My current fave so far, I tried this on HC, so no special things out of the bank that I did not earn and I did not grind, I just ran quests.
Tactics, Sonic Blast, then 1 sp Hypno followed up by a 2 pt Color Spray guarantees most are locked down. EK Cleave makes them all fall down.
Color Spray also often blinds undead.

(Disclaimer, only reached level 15 as time ran out on HC and is stuck on the HC server.)
Currently at 8th, started a new one on a regular server and things are hitting DC's is great on Elite.

This is not a huge overpowering toon like a Sorc or Warlock.
It however, for me at least, is a great deal of fun.

    Gnome 15 Wiz / 5 / Rogue
    Made him a lockdown specialist.
Sonic Blast / SLA Hypno (1 AP) / Color Spray.
In that order since range of each spell was longest first, to Color Spray which had the shortest range.

EK / Vistani / (Assassin until 12 AP then switch to Harper)

    [b]15/5 Wizard/Rogue[b]
    Chaotic Neutral Gnome

Best fleshy weapons I found: @10th level Flint https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Flint
    Undead Barovian.
(Flotsam is insanely good there too.)
These become insanely good with the Vistani and EK buffs.
