    9 AM Easter = 2 PM GMT +1

12.30pm IT time "(World Broadcast): World broadcast: 'The server is coming down for a restart in 30 minutes. Please find a safe place to log out! Thanks for your patience during the downtime!'"

The time set on your post and the actual restart time are off by an hour. Just saying.

    Cheers

It's been like this for several years after the US decided to delay their DST change-over by a week .. we changed on the same dates before that .. so for two one-week periods in when the clocks change there's the difference is reduced by 1 hour.

The game worlds are now down. An hour before they were supposed to be down.

I really hope that the stuff I did right before the server went down got saved.

I'm in the same time zone as SSG, no confusion with conversions. It's 8 AM Eastern, and the servers went down.

They went down at 8 AM EDT (which we're currently on), which would only 7 AM EST.

So the announcement said 9am. It is 8:10a.m. in Boston and servers are down. What gives?

Hopefully it's just the hour restart and not the 5 hour maintenance schedule

Nope. It looks like they're going for something bigger than just an hour.

I am sure if you came to the store where you wanted to make a purchase and it was closed an hour earlier than the posted closing time (and no accompanying explanation, i.e. "Medical emergency") you would also be ok with that? I was a business owner and yes, sometimes plans change- but a responsible owner at least tries to give an explanation.

I'm going to guess that the downtime was not intended to start an hour early, and that the restart itself started at the initial 9am.

Feels deceptive. Normal reboots are usually completed within 45 minutes, this was has already gone over. I also noticed late yesterday that things were sluggish and load screens were horrible, which always makes me think they're backloading updates or performing backups prior to some change. Feels like a ninja update masked as a "normal Wednesday reboot." Wish they'd just communicate honestly with us. They should let us handle their infrastructure as a community. Crowd sourced infrastructure as a service, not a bad idea.

A reboot and the servers are still down more than two hours later? Are the servers that terribly under powered or did something unforeseeable happen?

So the server has been down 2 and a half hours now.. How long does a restart take to restart servers. Can't imagine it taking this long.
