Default Mary's HCL Reaper Necro ES Warlock

Here is my HCL Reaper Necro ES Warlock build that I did 400,000 RXP (20 reaper points) in HCL III. This is not a build guide, I am posting here my build, what worked for me. It may not work for everyone.

A few points - I am not a tanky ES Warlock. Why? On HCL running R4 you cannot shield block and be tanky enough - so I do not ever stand still and shield block. I would have died. This is a jump around, jump over, burst burst, jump jump, cast, burst burst, jump, hurl, spell chucking build. You hurl champs, you finger mobs from far away and you kite. Lots and lots of kiting. Your dps will be low compared to melees and sorc/alchemists but you can sustain - stay away from trouble; you cannot tank.

You CC with mass hold monster, tsunami twist, evard's black tentacles

Because you are on a first life toon and are farming gear in Epic/Lengendary you want to fill as many destinies as you can before you begin running R4. This may sound impractical however there are many doing the same in HCL so you can find EH and EE groups. Soloing and filling destinies run Epic Hard. They are easy enough if you know how to play this build. Do the best you can to keep moving and keep healed. I do not use hirelings. Spend your platinum on heal scrolls, and remove curse and poison and disease potions; always carry restore scrolls. If you need to use a hireling Larafey is the best, you can pin her at the entrance and call her when you need a heal.

You want your hitpoints as high as you can get them. Fully buffed up in R4 I had around 3600 - this is necessary; Ive seen hits for 1-2k. You want a minimum of 2k therefore. Anything less and you risk dying instantly. You can die very quickly with 3600 too, though it gives you slightly more time to recover and heal, or move out of danger. Your group is key too - I usually ran with at least 1 or 2 melee who'd run in and attack the CC'd mobs and 1 FVS who was throwing heals - and a bard who was buffing and CCing, though I was in many groups where it was just 3 or 4 of us fighting, while we carried 2 or 3 pikers.

Fiend is the pact you want for Hurl - it is fantastic and the best of all the Warlock lvl 15 abilities. One could make an argument for Fey and the movement skill for survival but I prefer the EIN insta-kill of Hurl for champ mobs.

I chose drow for flavor - mostly because I love drow - any cha race would work - tiefling or Dragonborn - I use a charisma artifact, the sharn artifact ring; but I also love the artifact constitution gloves. If you stack your SR you can avoid getting hit by the nasty spells.

This is a first life, out of the box 28 point build - no tomes, nothing fancy
Farm for your gear - do the best you can. The shield out of the Cogs Wraithcallers is what I used and recommend. In my hand was a sentient Barovia DPS scepter slotted with a wave gem I looted. My gear was a mix of sharn and Ravenloft focusing on alignment spell power and fire spell power as well as necro DCS.

From level 1 to 20 I play in soul eater 12 points to get cone shape, 9 points in ES to get the MM immunity perma shield, resist energies 1, and aura of courage for the fear immunity, and the rest in Tainted Scholar; once I hit epics I respec to the build below, all in ES, with the rest in TS and racial.

Arcane pulse is a must-have for boss fights

I ran R4s in Unyielding Sentinal with Vigor of Battle; you get 3 self heals: Rejuv Cocoon, Renewal, and Shining Through
