Actually his ideas are far closer to the mark than the originals which fails to account for many of the issues raised in this thread. While I believe that the items do not necessarily need to be more powerful than exisiting options they need to give variations that are as powerful and potential better in some areas, something that does not exist in this version. In most cases Raiders can tell you what is going to be a DOA because we want a reason to run the content. I am extremely critical of the items to date in this version, but just looking at the sheer volume of items being produced I can understand why this is a starting point. Adding +1 to something is not calling it a day you need to look at the item in context. That staff that was suggested having +1 added to things needs it, As it is it really offers nothing substantial over non raid loot with the flexibility of 1 handed swaps +7 to dcs? Take a look at the night mothers scepter from a previous expansion.
While I disagree with the method of boosting the dc's adding to a +8 and a +5 insightful I strongly believe that they need a +2 boost to be competitive with what is in the off hand.

People are posting here because as it stands it will be run for variety and not looking for loot that will exist only in hopes of a cosmetic (see constellation) or sentient food. Its ok, I understand a lot of people are not invested in raiding and prefer the more causal 1-20 or 30 then TR but then this is thread is really for those who are in the raiding arena like zappy or others here.

The Reality- Those kobolds in Water Works won’t have a chance but nothing else cares-Learn to play your build and all its abilities in actual difficult content, get gear and reaper points in level 30+ content and raids.

Thank you for the postings, Lynnabel.

Is there a reason you could share on why Legendary Alchemical Weapons aren't universal like the current alchemical weapons? For example every character who uses a weapon can find an alchemical weapon that fits them - from Dart, to Kopesh, to Great Axe.

I'm asking because I have two main characters and the weapon choices for both of them are excluded from the list. Feeling a bit like I'm not invited to the party.

I like the idea here of carrying on the original alchemical design, but unfortunately it means it is situational just like the original lvl 20 items are. Your point of fire vs acid is valid and I did not really read beyond the original post. I do see also the need for some base damage via elasticity or Keen.

That being said, I would have to say there needs to be some sort of redesign here in general. Maybe the acid damage scales with spell power or adds to AA elemental arrow dice (although that may be too class specific)? Dump both the overwhelming proc and the seeker and add in elasticity and 1% acid vuln (stacking to 20%).

My fear with this bow is it is a raid item and will another situational bow that is useless vs elemental immunes.

Default Suggestions for new content items

Ok so while there was a game patch, i had written down this text for the future Fey expansion pack. Then i fell on that Lammania thread and i felt like it would be appropriate to copy my text in here. Those are my two cents about new magical items that could be added to the game:

    Hello devs and everyone.

I wanted to give you some ideas for news items that will be in the next expansion pack in order to add flavor.
Would it be possible instead of just raising the numbers from max 22 dex to max 24 and from parrying 10 to parrying 12 etc, to create items with unique abilities, that could drop either in very difficult areas or in raids but could be used at lower levels. You know unique rewards like Ascension Chamber ones or missing end chain.

    Here's some examples:

-Polymorphing boots: clicky that makes you tranform into a wolf so you get runspeed bonus for low amount of time to evade enemies.
-Splitting bow: now that nobody uses IPS anymore, this bow makes you attack 2 target at once, cause the arrow splits in half. Can be a clicky so usable 3X2min and thats it.
-Ring of the pheonix: usable once per hour. Can raise dead a friend who will reborn as a fire elemental. Some kind of Jack Jibber unique item.
-Tenser's tower Shield: When you block using this shield, it creates a forcefield around the wielder, and it protects himself and everyone around him as minor globe of invulnerability.
-Hat of disguise: clicky usable 3 times per day. You choose to appear as a different race. That's it. Just for fun. (But if you're disguised as a goblin in scavenger hunt, guess what happens...).
-New augments people would kill for with veerrryyy low drop rate in end game raids: metalline augment, vampiric augment.

You know that kind of useful items that just does not want players to play Tetris with what they already have in order to replace their old set for new ones because now they have +1 stat, +2% more dodge, +5 prr, but items that add flavor to the game.

These are just basic ideas, but of course other players in the community could add more to this thread, so you would end up with so many ideas for new magical items.

I just thought that would be more interesting rewards than the usual number increase we have seen in the last 2 years. I mean ravenloft set were awesome. Sharn came out with everything +1-2 to numbers, so almost nobody use Ravenloft anymore. It would be sad that Fey world is launched and now Ravenloft is wayy outdated, Sharn becomes useless, and the only thing Fey has to offer are the same items with same attributes +1-2 numbers, allocated differently.
By the way, keep on the good work!

You're an awesome team and everything you've done over these last years are incredible work. This mmo far exceed every other in term of quality and versatility!!

Hi all! I'm back from my self-imposed exile (aka stay at home vacation) and I just wanted to throw out a little sneak peak. I've been working tirelessly to redo almost every facet of this raid loot suite, but one item in particular ended up so cool I couldn't wait until next preview to share it. (note that the Silver is from the epic feat and the FVS is from, well, me being a fvs) I'll have more to share about the rest of the loot when it's at a more player-appropriate stage, but I did want to step in and thank you all for your diligent feedback so far. Without further ado...

That looks a lot better. My only problem is that as a quarterstaff it competes with staff of shadows (x3 multiplier) so it'll be worse than that. But that's fine since it stacking vulnerability.... However, out of the 2 qstaff trees (HM and TA) you're already getting vul stacking in HM, making this staff not that great. Particularly compared to SoS. I understand you don't want to give it extended multiplier (and I agree). But perhaps change fetters to an LGS effect (-prr). That way you'll be getting the benefit of this staff as a HM build as well. Or maybe even both. That way you're sure it's "the best martial staff in the game", as it should be since it's from a raid tier higher than KT. Although, it would still be worse than SoS in a raid scenario.

My TA approves. But as has been previously stated, quarterstaff damage in general is pretty lackluster and it's been made up for in the past by pushing crit ranges and multipliers on melee-type staves. I understand that's no longer going to be a thing, but this QS really needs some kind of oomph in it's place to make it attractive. Also it's Adamantine but the material type is Steel - Guessing that's just WIP.

Good catch! I definitely missed that, just swapped it over.

This qstaff in particular will be getting something else a little special that was specifically not shown in this screenshot, when it hits the next preview the first person to tell me what special sauce just got scripted together wins my undying respect and adoration :)

hmm... a special extra bonus including allowing it to count as a favoured weapon if you happen to be a follower of the lord of blades maybe?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

I would not say nobody uses IPS anymore. In fact, people still use it, we just are nerfed in terms of DPS.... because longbows were so OP . There is no way I am hitting one target for 20% more rather than hitting many (however many I can line up) targets at the same time despite being nerfed 20% in dps. Plus, having to stand still is a huge issue. The speed bonus they gave (mentioned many times but not addressed) us is marginalized because of the issue with the game's engine not supporting it or whatever the underlying issue is. Bottom line, we don't get all the speed that is advertised.

What we are STILL waiting for is an update on the longbow and short bow updates we were promised. Still nothing from SSG on that. And nothing about how they plan to address the ranged speed not living up to the advertised speed bonus.

Can we get a quick overview on say what you've done to the alchemical weapons?

    Its an artifact.

Edit: or maybe its stronger in the hands of a warforged/bladeforged?

    THAT would be cool.

If it got even better in the hands of a WF/BF Paladin, that would be even cooler!

Nice, this was actually something people were wanting

Any chance you added a bastard sword to the loot list? Needing something good for fighting rustmonsters and oozes!

Also, you may want to include the ability to have this as your favored weapon if following The Lord Of Blades (Hidden flag)

From the screenshot it looks like it has expanded crit range (19-20/x2).

Just wanted to throw in my two cents that the quarterstaff looks pretty good! Good base damage, useful side abilities, and it also looks neat!

While I of course love items with an expanded crit profile, even without that this staff would definitely make me revisit using and making a stick build for the first time in years.

In the hands of a Bladeforged, this Qarterstaff is treated as a Great Sword and receives and extra 0.5[W] when being attached.

Not bad, but if it were to be treated as a Great Sword, the crit profile should be 17-20/x2 (includes the Keen V property).

At this point they do something iconic Bladeforged themed since the iconic paladin starts from House of Channit ... a two-handed sword that can only be used by a Bladeforged or something else exclusive to this iconic only I wouldn't mind ...
