    Agreed - I don't think they help at all. Speed/latency aren't the issue, and never really have been.

    Also, getting a patching blowup here:

    client_gamelogic.dat forwarding is dying at some point. Looks like all the perms are correct, so not sure what's going on there. Moving that file and retrying, the initial download is fine, but it fails at the same place when it patches.

    Such was not my intent. Lag has been much much worse for me over the past week, which I do attribute to the COVID-19 lockdowns. And I'm still seeing lag that feels about the same as before the downtime. Doing a tracert shows a couple of big slowdowns between me and DDO, but I'm not enough of a network guy to dig in deeper. I can tell it's not "the last mile" to my house, but beyond that, who knows.

    The windows client is asking for Administrator permissions near the end of dat file updates as well, so probably something weird going on. I'm not sure why now the launcher/patcher needs admin rights when it never has before. It's probably trying to move/delete something and borking.

    ps. would be nice if MS Windows would at least tell you what the program that asks for admin rights is actually trying to do lol

    pps I just kept hitting NO and restarting the launcher over and over until it gave me the login screen

    Just ran "Prove Your Worth" on R2 on HCS. Previous 5 runs/lives, I would get huge delays in the following areas:

    1) First trap (spikes and blades): It would take several seconds from when the trap would activate to when I could move again;
    2) Arrow puzzle room: It would take several seconds (5-10) of attacking boxes before they would break;
    3) Other areas with breakables: Same as previous.

    None of that happened this run. I am very pleased with the improvement so far. Thank you so very much for finally correcting this issue. Brain power!

    Also, ran "Ghost of a Chance" immediately after, and I found a noticeable decrease in delay in certain areas in this quest as well.

    client_gamelogic.dat-32602 is 0 bytes. Fails consistently on that one.

    (Akamai's version of that is fine. I just did a wget on it.)

    I ran a von3 EE, no lag. TS r1, fine. Wheloon chain r4, a few lag spikes, nothing major. Grim r4, not too bad.

    And then we ran sharn welcome, r4, just three of us. Boom, lag in first fight, two dead. Raised, went again, boom lag for like a minute straight, two dead again. Sooo.... not quite fixed yet.

    EDIT: Standing still in sharn welcome, waiting on a fourth guildy, lagging again. First fight after he got in, lag again. Moving down halway after fight, lagging again.
    Endfight, stuck in the air lagging for a minute again.
    Lagging talking to Vaunt at the end again...
    Still lagging, trying to talk to Vaunt to finish the quest, 2 minutes later.
    On Gland, that is.

    Default level 3 anyone

    I did a few more tracerts and for me things consistently die somewhere in NJ in a level3 box, IP address 4.31.43.210. From there to DDO seems fine, from me to there seems fine, but that node itself very frequently times out. I'm willing to attribute that to internet backbone breakage due to the current times, but can anyone not seeing lag do a tracert and see if you go through that node? It'd be useful information.

    Several sources of client and server performance issues have been identified, and steps taken to mitigate them. We will continue to evaluate performance issues and investigate them as they appear.
    Nope

    Logging in with both a Sentient Weapon and a Minor Artifact equipped will now register and apply the Filigree set bonuses from both items without needing to unequip and re-equip the items
    Nope

    I don't know what language you use but if it's anything like SQL, sorting data makes it non-relational and inefficient so if you haven't already looked at the recent shared bank changes, you might want to do so. As much as I like the ability to sort, I prefer a game that is playable so feel free to roll that change back if that's the culprit!

    Thumbs down Ofcourse, I guesss it is my turn...

    I never had real problems with lag - Now it is worse than ever -> Latency = 100+ and Loss= 0.2+
    Characters most played - Zaofu, Zaosin and Zaotil (Thelanis) - Xaoru (Sarlona)

    Same here - still down 3 INT points until I un/re-equip artifact and sentient.

    I’m having a hard time seeing where anything in the release notes actually happened...like absolutely nothing has changed. Lag is still crippling and holding players in place for minutes at a time on Orien, and the sentient weapon/minor artifact glitch is still there.

    Did SSG try giving players a placebo? Only asking because that’s exactly what it looks like.

    This is obviously not the outcome we were going for. Yesterday's patch did fix some things, but we are getting pretty mixed feedback on whether it made any difference in game performance.
    Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

    Maybe it wasn't obvious enough, but you can get whatever failing files directly from various points, like

    $ wget http://download.ddo.akamai.turbine.c...ogic.dat-32602

    Stick them in the forward dir.

    Indeed. Also the raid chest of Project Nemesis was a mimic.
