    Default Update 46 Preview 1: Named Loot

    Update 46 is expected to contain the following new named loot items located in the quests of "The Lost Gatekeepers" adventure pack. During this preview you can easily access this loot via "The Loot Guy" NPC located in the center of the Test Dojo. Below you can see listings for all of the named loot expected in Update 46 including Heroic and Legendary variants as well as Legendary exclusive Minor Artifacts and Filigree Sets.

    • Enhancement Bonus +3/+15
    • Blood Rage Anytime you are hit there is a chance that you will fall into a Blood Rage. Blood Rage gives up to a +8 bonus to Strength and Constitution but will also cause short periods of lethargy when your lust for blood becomes sated.
    • Vengeful While its wielder is hit in battle, this item has a 10% chance to cause him or her to become full of anger and go into a Rage.
    • Enhanced Bloodrage This weapon is enhanced by blod - your blood! Each time you take damage or kill an enemy, there is a small chance that you will fal into an unholy bloodrage, greatly increasing your Melee Power, Constitution, and Damage. However, this rage will leave you more vulnerable to Physical attacks, slightly reducing your Armor Class.
    • Relentless Fury While this item is equipped, any killing blows you strike against enemies may drive you into a furious rage, providing a 5% Enhancement damage bonus to your melee, ranged, and unarmed attacks for 30 seconds. Slaying weaker opponents has a reduced chance of producing this effect.
    • Manslayer This devastating ability allows the wielder to defeat a humanoid opponent with a single decisive blow. On an attack roll of 20 which is confirmed as a critical hit a humanoid target will be killed. Powerful humanoids may resist the vorpal strike and instead take 100 points of damage until they have been sufficiently weakened.

When a shattermantle weapon strike a foe that has spell resistance, the value of that spell resistance is reduced by 3/6 for 9 seconds.     Sad that the Heroic isn't better than a Cannith crafted orb at ML3. Would be nice to have a Force Absorption 5% and Energy Siphon I/II/III. Energy Siphon only comes in X/50 and XII/60 which is 5 per level, so that would only be 5/10/15 SP on a shield bash. I would think this wouldn't be overkill even at III since shield bash infers close proximity and at L3, that's scary for a caster.

    Manslayer on the dagger is... underwhelming.

    I'd expect a level 29 weapon to at least have a stronger version of the effect, if not outright Sovereign Vorpal.

    I also think that Silver, Alchemical taking an effect slot is pretty uninteresting.

    Sorry, Heroic Silver Blade of the Flame, you're not actually made out of silver, because only Epic Silver Blades are made out of silver.

    ...please make the blade actual silver, and add Holy?
    Or, if you insist that the Silver be one of the effects, could the blade at least be made out of flametouched iron?

    Silver Blade of the Flame is pretty cool, but I feel like it would be cooler if it had something especially for Paladins/Clerics/FVS of the Silver Flame. How about some extra damage dice or something? I'm excited to see what the appearance of the Longsword looks like.

    I like that shattermantle is back, it's always nice to be able to support your casters by taking down a bit of spell resistance & bottle of smoke looks really good - smoke concealment is a nifty effect.

    Also, a whimsical part hopes the ring of changes will include some kind of Bowie reference in the fluff text
    I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

    Could we please get more item diversity for Boon of Undeath? Our only non-festival options are a cloak (Black Velvet Capelet) and a belt (Festering Mummy Wraps), and both of these options are going to have yet more competition in this update. It would be nice to get this effect on a ring or necklace to allow for different types of undead builds. Options to improve Negative Healing Amp in these two slots would be welcome, too.

    I want to give very detailed feedback, but that will have to wait till later. At first glance the low-level items look extremely uncompelling. I mean almost complete disinterest. However, the assortment of trinkets is at least intriguing.

    Upon hearing that we were getting a Gatekeeper pack, and Gatekeepers being druids, I was hoping for some new druid themed items. Ah well perhaps we will see more weather, plant, animal, ocean, forest, wild themes with the upcoming Fey expansion.

    with profane wellrounded being available at level 3.... I think the ancient ML1 harbor trinkets could be changed to Profane stat+1

    That's quite a nice trinket for level 3. Probably be carrying that for a few levels.
    Per Cocomajobo - Ranged has easy access to AOE - apparently 3 feats, BAB 11 and Dex 19 is considered easy access these days. post here

    Boots without Speed continue to be more difficult to work into a gearset. Any chance that Topaz of Striding could be added to the augment vendors? Even just the Remnant one?

    Nice to see more Force support for itemization. Its an element that gets ignored a lot. However, maybe make it Insightful Power/Lore? That's what really hurts Force...the lack of good secondary and tertiary channels for Force casting, relative to other elements.

    Known Issues
    • Tooltip for the effect "Enhanced Ghostly" claims to grant only +10% chance to miss you instead of the intended 15%.
    Maybe change the name from "Enhanced", for the sake of clarity? It might sound like its an Enhancement Bonus to Ghostly, which one would assume could be stacking with other Ghostly. Any other adjective that isnt also a bonus type would do..."Fell Ghostly" seems to hit the right tone, for one example. Or just come up with another word entirely, like "Ectoplasmal"?

    Again, nice to see continued itemization for Negative. Would be nice if not so much of it was mainhand/offhand caster items, though. Especially now that Vile Chemists need these stats, but need actual weapons too.

    Cool idea, and I'm glad this mechanic is technically feasible. However, seems that its less useful on a 1H weapon since any build that cant already use a 1H Favored isnt going to want to anyway (eg Qstaves). And other than FvS WIS/CHA-to-dmg, there's not much point in using Favored weapons over non-Favored anyway. But I'm excited to see what else might be divine attuned in the future.

    What if it was a Scimitar and had Keen on Epic? At least then its a Slashing option for any divine user, even ones that spec for Pierce or Bludgeon weapons. And the crit profile makes it more attractive than some of the other 1h melee favored weapons, even for the L3 version.
