Which would require either dumping Balance (meh), or a 32 pt build for +2 Int.

You're losing -2 to start, then -1/2 levels (cross class skill), plus no +# Tools bonus - how long can you practically keep opening locks? Mid-Heroics or so?

(Charisma isn't supposed to help Lock Bash - is there a bug I've missed? Either way, a Cha item is heaping another burden on a first lifer, who might already be having trouble w/ gear tetris.)
Just get intim items, trust me it works.

No clue. I'm sure it's balanced around swashbuckling with double strike boost though, so using it THF in zombie form with melee power boost with EK melee power should give better than normally intended results.

Scathing words on the way to En Pointe will reduce fort saves of nearby mobs by 3, so another 3 soundburst DC.

So by level 18, we have 2 EK soundburst DC, 3 swashbuckling soundburst save debuff, 1 wizard evocation focus free feat soundburst DC, and 4 wizard heighten free feat soundburst DC. Heh. 10 non-cleric soundburst DC/debuffs. On a melee build... That's hilarious. Pure 20 warpriest would have been 0.

Just starting off, but having fun with a 1st lifer with this build on a first life on an alt server - thanks!

    However...

(* WW 1 & 2, STK, Sharn, Swiped Signet, Redfang, etc.)

    • +6 Wis 22 (16+1 (Lvl 4) + 2 Guild, +3 item)
    • +2 Evoc (+1 item, +1 Wiz Feat*)
      = +8 total

Not Heightened yet, but not really in higher level content either - am I missing something? I'd estimate I'm only landing about 1 in 4, 1 in 3 tops.

(* took Wiz 1 early for Master's Touch, early Expeditious, Jump, and cheese 1 AP Invis to get closer to drop Soundburst to start the festivities. Evo Focus is a wash w/ -1 Cleric Level.)

Yeah. I like how enthusiastic can Tilo be presenting his builds, but realistically you're unlikely to land soundburst in harder content without a significant investment. Fortitude save is a strong save for many monsters. Plus there's spell resistance, hard to beat on a splashed first liver.

    Good luck.

Let me guess, you are running reaper leveling groups on a 1st lifer on an alt server ... with no gear or tomes!
I am too! Still 2/3rds starter gear, and able to do decently so far.
The build has good heroic DC boosts available to a caster (spell focus, heighten, enhancement tree +2, bard song debuffs +3), so while it won't be the 95% of an uber, whatever % it ends up at is going to be "good" for a first lifer. 1 in 4, 1 in 3? Thats better than 0! Welcome to the no-gear, no tome, first life character in reaper!

    Enjoy your stay!

Yeah, since he's got his 3 cleaves, one or two snoozers are still welcome, volunteering to die first to help even up the odds.

R1, yes - but how much tougher is that DC than E? A couple/few? So that might bring the numbers up over 1/3? (Guess I'll have to go back and re-run on E and see the diff...)

As for tomes, you don't have to "guess" - they were not in the math, they're not on the character. I rarely dump tomes onto a first-lifer to start things off. (Would have to be pretty enthusiastic to do so!)

As for Gear, he now actually has a droploot +2 Evoc item, which is pretty good for ML 5. (Not sure what more he could get at Level 5-6.) Still only Cha 22; 24 next level.

Looking to fit in a spell pen item now, tho' not sure how many targets have that going for them.

(Had crafted up a ML 1 +1 GT Greatsword from KotB which was serving adequately (if not winning any prizes), and then found a +2 Cursespewing Ghostbane 1 Greatsword - so +1d10 bane and the occasional random curse, which is kinda funny.)

Mmm, your much better geared than I am. I think the difference between R1 and E is about 8 DC, or 40%? Ish?

You mention 3 cleaves, so you are around level 8. That means you could get the slavers sorcery set, +2 DC, and another +2 wisdom enhancement, +1 quality wisdom, +1 artifact wisdom = +4 DC (+20%)

Slavers Spinneret will also add +1 quality DC. This will take you from 30>55%. A slavers set and a RL falchion will take you to 20.

Added this to OP for you and others who want to reaper:

    Gear of note

Even landing on 1/3 or 2 out of 6 mobs is 2 out of 6 not fighting back. That's about equal to displacement after reaper penalty to concealment. Plus you get 75% helpless bonus damage to 2 out of 6, or 25% bonus damage overall, which is about equal to hitting a button for a melee power boost instead. Plus it multiplies melee power boost. You shouldn't be in harder content period without significant investment anyways. O.o

Soundburst is kindof like zombie form. Maybe its a small multiplier, not seemingly worth it on its own in a vacuum against the cost involved. However, when you start multiplying abilities by each other, the net result due to multiplication is much higher than the sum of individual parts.

Y'all need to try Adrenaline+Tempest, it feels amazing. With my PM build I respecced at 30 for testing and hit 50k's with whatever I had sitting around; now that I ETR'ed into an EK I've broken 70k a handful of times since hitting 30 last week (and that was without a full filigree set and using Silent Avenger lol).

Even without Adrenaline, Tempest is usually hitting ~13k, which is pretty solid AoE especially given it can Doublestrike now.

Tsunami, Dire Charge, or Overwhelming Force to get helpless (if you can't land spell DC's at 30, which I couldn't without losing too much DPS).

Ding 10! Now that I have zombie form can go back into slavers and take my revenge on all the broken soundburst spamming shamans in there and farm up my slavers set! Had my first useful named item drop. A Mantle of Fury on the way to my free Falchion. Updated AP in OP a bit to drop cleric melee power boost for the EK one, and put a note to turn class-based loot off. Soundburst is landing in hard slavers on basically everything very well. Level 10 was a pretty good level!

Running oom but can beat the fights on elite slavers, just can't beat the traps @ 1 RL Falchion, 1 partially completed sheltering SL item, and RNG loot found on the way up to level 10. Added augments Dex/Int/Cha to SL gear, and note it is really the fastest way to gear, and can be reused due to now having every single stat on basically any other build you ever make.

Ding 12!, updated OP. This build is substantially done now. I tested it myself by actually starting a first life character on a new server at level 4 and playing in reaper in groups, hard solo in slavers. The slavers farm took a bit of time, but it also helped level from 10-12, and now I have a set of gear that will work well on any build or life I do, ever, on that server for heroics.

And yes, soundburst does land. Not 100% in reaper. But I am playing a first life no-tome melee with self-healing in plate and tons of AoE damage regardless, so it doesn't have to land 100%. Greater command would also land, but lets be realistic, I'm never going to use it.

    Thumbs up Nice one

Ok new content to nerf after Inq; Zombie form, Sound burst and Eldricht force cleaves.

    (Joking)

Loving the creativity at the build although I am more of a Rogue person.

I also believe Soundburst (Spellsinger and shout is horrible), Conjuration (an update would be nice though) clouds, Glitterdust; Sleetstorm and Chainlightning are all cheaper and usefull spells at caster builds.

    Default Weapon Proficiency

I rolled this up on HCL, only lvl 3 at the moment. I pulled a lvl 1 +1 falchion from somewhere, not proficient with it of course. Searching through the build instructions to see when full martial weapon proficiency became available, I found: nothing.

Sovereign Host gives Longsword. Cleric gives simple weapons. Halforc has no racial weapon. EK gives simple weapons. All this comes from wiki.

Is there something I missed? Maybe in Update 45?

edit: never mind, take a Wiz early, masters touch.

If you take 1 wizard early, you should take 2 of them, so you have 4 BaB at level 6 for Great Cleave. Otherwise 5 cleric 1 wiz only has 3 BaB at level 6, and you can't get great cleave.
But then if you take 2 wizard early, you might as well take 3 for zombie and ghost touch, but then your healing is bad, since your cleric levels are down by 3!

I just leveled with quarter staves until 8, but gl whatever you do! I had to power through the reaper self healing penalty, but if you are not self-healing in reaper on hardcore yea you can mix it up np.

Fun build, took to epics in a non optimized build to play around with different ideas which didn't work out. Was dwarf shoulda been horc. :P Horc is really great now. Too bad adrenaline doesn't work on cleaves or strikethrough.

Tilo here's your screenie. You'd get much bigger numbers on a more optimized build.

TY for pic Toon! Good to hear you enjoyed it, sorry it didn't work out on your dwarf. I just finished main sorcery set, got a stack of 10 statuettes of the gods, which I never found in endless runs on Cannith. Working on resilience set now. After that will cut through heroics.

What do you think of this for epics?

    21 OC
24 BoGW to upgrade soundburst, free feat swap heighten to quicken
    26 PTHF
    27 Haste
    28 PTWF
29 Dire Charge (swap from wisdom evo to tactics gear, and go strength + charisma + divine might here.
30 Reincarnate (Arborea + Epic DR)

Rush and fill in martial EDs for first life characters to level them so you can get martial ED feats. Twisting evocationx2 and Tsunami and CAF into FoTW for vets.

    19 AP HOrc
7 AP PM Zombie + Cloak
    39 AP EK
10 AP Swashbuckier deflect arrows + En Pointe
    4 AP Warpriest Divine Might

A solid KoTB gear set would probably do well.

I did the same thing. But I also took a level of Bard 1st (for the skills*), so my leveling is significantly diff than the OP.

(* including Intimidate for Lock Bash)

And, yes, that means no GC until 9. But I got Eldritch Cleave at 2 (and Jump and Expeditious, and a 1 AP Invis), making 2 cleaves 3 levels early. Made 2-5 faster, if 6-8 a little harder. Bardic Rage at 2 plus 2-hand fighting adds a bit to cover that deficit as well. Worked for me.

I have had no luck finding any detailed build info in this thread, in spite of comments on instructions. Am I missing something? I saw the OP edited saying it was nerfed now, but how badly? Is this just the Cleave speed nerf? Or is there more?

SSG just killed (haha) zombie form.
    • Before: "+20% damage with attacks but you attack 20% slower than normal."
    • Now: "+10 Melee Power, 3 Physical and Magical Resistance Rating, and attack 10% slower."

That's a huge nerf to builds like this based on exploiting how the damage boost was multiplicative but the speed penalty was additive. Tilomere usually deletes their builds any time SSG nerfs them.
