    Default Good Classes for Aasimar

I will be playing Aasimar for the racial reincarnation. My first incarnation as an Aasimar is a Paladin, because I felt that class had the most benefit from the race. I made that decision by looking mostly at stats: enhancements can increase str/wis/cha and all three of those are useful, in some way, to a paladin. I also saw the racial Lay on Hands as similar to the Paladin's version, and Aasimar also has Healing Amplification as a Tier 1 enhancement. Are there any other classes (or multiclass builds) that you feel would benefit as much or more when paired with Aasimar? Since I am aiming for Racial Reincarnation, I don't need to worry about classes being pure or having more levels in one or another. I've never multiclassed before, however, so nothing too complicated please. I would even be open to multiclassing my current life, but I already have a level 6 Paladin so that limits what builds I can actually work towards right now.

    Thank you for any feedback.

I always liked the WISDOM based tempest ranger using the FALCONRY tree. Great synergies.

Just beware that next week's update looks bad for THF paladins, rangers (tempest and ranged), and aasimar in general.
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

If you have Falconry tree, WIS-based Shintao monk is a good option, with Healing Hands supplementing Fists of Light.

My paladin is a shielder, but thanks for the warning.

Do you use a bastard sword or dwarven axe for the glancing blows? That's the part that got nerfed.

No, I'm an Aasimar so I chose longsword from among the available favored weapons, which does not include either of those.

Longsword is a great choice, especially paired with Knight's Training. Also a great weapon for SWF.

This may sound a bit odd - but I suggest a Sorc.

Sorcs are pretty great right now - and having access to self heals from Aasimar only makes playing a Sorc easier.

After U45 hits - Barbarian Aasimar is also a good choice as you can heal with Aasimar Healing Hands when raged.

Can a Barbarian use Aasimar healing hands while raged? If so, that’s one more avenue for healing while raged - the Barbarian’s biggest hurdle.
No one in the world ever gets what they want
    And that is beautiful
    Everybody dies frustrated and sad
    And that is beautiful

Yep they can, at least at the moment With the healing amp barbs get & making sure not to completely tank wisdom plus ensuring theres some gear to boost the stat too, it's great for healing yourself as well as letting you throw some assistance to party members if necessary.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Are there any classes that would be best advised NOT to use with Aasimar? For example, if something the Aasimar race provides or limits works in opposition to what a class does or needs. (Such as halfling and barbarian - the class that needs strength the most paired with the race that reduces base strength is a conflict of interest, though doable it's not ideal.) The reason I'm asking this now is because a new class has just been released with the recent update.

You cannot use the Aasimar hp stance along with Sorc elemental cap stance. Its not a big deal and Aasimar still make for good Sorcs - but still a small consideration.

Aasimar FvS 12/Ftr 6/Mnk 2 Vistani Knife Fighter with Wisdom to everything is a lot of fun. Not quite blow-through dungeons on R4 solo fun but if you've got the gear and past lives that works too.

Vistani Knife Fighter 34 (Core 4, Vistani Knife Training V, Mist Stalker V)
Kensei 32 (Core 1, One with the Blade, Deadly Strike)
Aasimar 16 (All Cores, Heal Amp x2, True Resilience +3 Reflex, FtW, Ascendant Bond:Fallen)

If you have no free racial enhancements you can cut Vistani Knife Training V.

    32 pts (36 Pts)

    Str - 9 (10)
    Dex - 15 (15)
    Con - 16 (16)
    Int - 8 (8)
    Wis - 19 (20)
    Cha - 8 (8)

    Feats
1 - Monk: TWF, Dodge (Monk) (Need 15 Dex at start)
    2 - Monk: Precision (Monk)
    3 - FvS: Mobility
    4 - FvS
    5 - FvS
6 - Ftr: Weapon Focus - Piercing, Sap (Ftr)
    7 - FvS
    8 - FvS
9 - FvS: Imp TWF (Need 17 Dex)
10 - Ftr: Power Critical (Ftr)
    11 - Ftr
    12 - FvS: Improved Critical - Piercing
13 - Ftr: Weapon Spec - Piercing (Ftr)
    14 - FvS
    15 - Ftr: Greater TWF
    16 - FvS
17 - Ftr: Spring Attack (Ftr)
    18 - FvS: Quicken

Lots of ability to spike upwards on damage and defense as needed with the VKF and Kensei attacks and The Blood is the Life and Mist Stalker V. Very high attack rate due to VKF so procs can be nonstop at times.

It is more of a play in Epics as opposed to play too Epics because the early feat-taking is so constrained by BAB issues. Still very strong early though.

Aasimar Bond and Warlock Pact cannot be toggled on at the same time, which means you either lose a significant amount of your Eldritch Blast damage or (more likely) lose your Aasimar Bond ability which includes your healing hands. You can toggle back and forth in order to keep your EB damage up and just use the healing hands in between fights but that's a huge pain as the toggle animation (during which you cannot move, fight, etc.) takes about 3 seconds each.
