I'd like something that could be a Bard hireling, probably. That means something humanoid most likely. We have too many melee DPS permanent hirelings. I have a black panther, a lioness, an owlbear, a scarecrow, and a Guardian. That's plenty.

More than the physical skin/creature, the game abilities matter to me. I'd like a Bard, Rogue, Sorc, or Healing hireling. I am really not interested in another melee or tank hireling.

A mount summoner token that summons a mount dependent on race, class and alignment. When I am knocked off the mount it becomes a hireling that fights along side me. Can be summoned as a regular hireling in quests where mounts are prohibited. Same level as the PC that summoned it.

    Some D&D tropes this supports.

    A halfling with a raptor.
A paladin with a holy steed.
A ranger with a spirited horse which does not stand idly by as its rider is thrown from it in combat.
An artificer with mechanical version of (insert animal mount here)

If all 3 categories are too complicated, use one.

Satyr is the popular choice in this poll. Maybe as a Bard permanent hireling?

Pixie with sleep poison bow. I would also be cool with a Dryad.

    Faerie Dragon...
Fits with Feywild theme, can use Pseudodragon basic form and animations (making the load lighter on the art department) and rather than a single look for the hireling, there could be multiple colour/wing pattern options to choose from.

    Default Phoenix!

It could "cast" True Resurrection and maybe Heal on you and could raise itself for a short time after it dies.

A Dryad would probably be the easiest and would fit into the environment. There is already a Dryad companion, (she can heal, cast support spells and put out a nice piece of damage) and should be fairly easy to convert.

Whatever it is, I hope it is not:

Large - disrupts view of party members
Loud - distracting for party members and makes voice chat a pain.
Otherwise disruptive - causes party members to ask for you to put it away.

    Otherwise..GO FOR IT !
anything properly themed that is not any of the three things listed.

But those awful shouts and cries she makes. The few times I've had her, I wanted desperately to mute just her.

I voted satyr but I could go for a dryad or pixie, too. So long as it is not another giant *** creature that can not fit through doors, or demands to stand directly on top of you blocking your entire view, and is not as slow as molasses in January.

Class wise, a bard satyr, rogue pixie, or druid like dryad would be really cool.

I think a pixie would be more along the lines of Falconry, so not ruling it out as a possible familiar type of creature.
Would be cool if you could command your pixy as a distraction and command it to go places all over over the battlefield, having mobs chase it, falconers pets can't die, so plusses there.
Would also be super if we as a fey would be able to stack sneak attacks on our spells.

    Default Size

I believe small, even tiny companions/permanent hirelings seems to be the best. Players somehow find big sized ones disattactive for several reasons.

This also includes mounts. (Also there was this rant about Shield guardians getting stuck at doors etc as I remember)

So this leaves us with goblins (the biggest). Types of sprites, pixies, fairies, brownies. (Many more similar beings to count Gremlins, Quicklings ?). I heard some players speak about faerie dragons.

(General ddo purposes : If I could choose I would go for Hamster with wheel running emote lol)

    Either --

    1) Rainbow butterfly pixie

    or

    2) My Little Unicorn

Maybe you get to choose either one or the other, exclusively ? Or maybe if you get the X-Pack twice, you can have both !!! SQUEEEEEE !!!
