Regarding D&D are based upon. And what the editions of the Monster Manual I have support.

    in "Greyhawk"
All Devils call the 9 Planes of Hell home.
All Demons call the 666 layers of the Abyss home.

However DDO is based on Eberron Planer Lore.

    Indeed.

But it is clearly stated that Malicia is not from Eberron setting nor Shavarath. She is a fugutive being. She pretends to be what Devils or Demons want to see. She is clearly working for herself ,taking advantage of different planar beings and realms.

I think she may be working for a deity between the planes.

    Default Woah !!!!

The most beautiful and striking of all lesser and greater devils, the erinyes are fierce and disciplined warriors. Sweeping down from the skies, they bring swift death to creatures that have wronged their masters or defied the edicts of Asmodeus. The erinyes appear as male or female humanoids with statuesque builds and large feathery wings. Most wear stylized armor and horned helms, and carry exquisite swords and bows. A few also use ropes of entanglement to ensnare powerful foes.
Legends tell that the first erinyes were angels that fell from the Upper Planes because of temptation or misdeed. Erinyes are always willing to take advantage of being mistaken for celestials in their missions of conquest and corruption.

Pretty sure the first sign of... Malicia.

    Under the Big Top
The Traveling Troubadors arrived in Stormreach a few months ago. Like many freelance entertainers, they pay fees to House Phiarlan for the privilege of performing in their Enclave.

All we know is that she isn't from Eberron (the dragon between, aka the prime material) nor from Shavarath (the battleground). We also know she was summoned from Mabar at least once which puts it at the top of the list of planes she could be from.

The Contenders are in order of likeliness.

    1: Mabar (the endless night)
    2: The Abyss
    3: Baator (the 9 hells)
    4: Khyber

A synthetic copy of Malicia isn't Malicia though, it's just a cheap copy according to what we could expect from Malicia's own standards

"At least so far"......... well at least so far there is only one raid exclusive sentient jewel, but really it isn't enough to have "earned" its place as raid loot. (Sentient Jewel Of The Covetous), heck I've been after that sentient jewel for too long and it isn't even purchasable through raid runes!

Should raid sentient jewels be a thing? Yes indeed, but they should be based on popularity between the players. Right now, Malicia is the most popular sentient jewel candidate, hopefully if people get their Malicia there will be more people pushing for a Yaulthoon jewel. But then again, a lot of people also want a Lord Of Blades themed sentient jewel, I wouldn't mind one for my Syranian Bastard Sword but what I am really wanting is a Yaulthoon one! Realistically, high demand sentient jewels are something I could only expect like three times a year max.

Anyhow, one of the forum goers here mentioned "Simulacrum Sentient Jewels".... in which based on the limitations of what sentient weapons can say, might be best.

    "Simulacrum Of Malicia Sentient Jewel"
"Simulacrum Of The Lord Of Blades Sentient Jewel"
    "Simulacrum Of Yaulthoon Sentient Jewel"
"Simulacrum Of Erandis Vol Sentient Jewel"
"Simulacrum Of The Truthful One Sentient Jewel"

All of these could be possible

If you were to make a raid with five new sentient jewels in it though, throwing in three new mounts and some kind of crafting system for making unique end game trinket slot items and end game offhand items (Orbs, bucklers shields etc.). You'd have a well rounded raid that might have a better longevity than other raids in the game!

Make sure to include Skeletal Horse mount though, the giant squirrel mount I want isn't too popular but the skeletal horse is. I had to suggest a giant squirrel mount and though it was popular to a handful of people, it probably wouldn't be suggested by anyone if I had not put the image of a caffeine powered mount with a fluffy twitchy tail in everyone's head, but that skeletal horse one has several people who seemed to have come to the conclusion that a skeletal horse would be awesome all on their own

The creative possibilities in DDO excite me!

I am saddened though not to have seen a pun staff based off of Staphylococcus "The Staff Of Lococcus", so much potential there that it is painful to not see it being made use of! I had a Staph infection before, it was horrible.... you could definitely weaponize that for an in game Staff!

This game needs more puns, perhaps you could try out how your translation of this "The Staff Of Lococcus" would be received through one of your pen and paper D&D sessions?

Anyhow, there are a lot of entertaining new replies to this post and I am enjoying them, a few new interesting theories too! ^_^
