Default Lesser reincarnation and heart of wood

Hi all! I'm currently running a multiclass toon 12Fighter/6Palidan/2Monk. Is there any way I can run the toon Pure Fighter without starting over? If there's a way please provide details. I can't seem to understand the lesser reincarnate or + heart of wood process and I surely don't want to make a mistake. Thanks!

Short answer: +8 HoW (or better).

Here's how to think about it...

If you use a regular Lesser HoW (+"0"), you start at Level 1 and re-do the whole character, level by level, following the exact class progression you used the first time.

A +# HoW uses the same process, but the +# allows you to change # of classes to another class. HOWEVER - you cannot break the "3 class max" rule. The game remembers all your "future" class choices (same as Lesser HoW, above) and won't let you add a new class (which would be a "4th") until you've dropped down to 2 in the build total, so +1 more is not more than 3.

In your case, you're not adding any new class, just going to all-fighter, so your current 3-class build will become a 2-class and then a 1-class build, np.

Since you are not adding any additional classes (like swapping out monk for rogue) yours is pretty simple. You need a total of 8 class changes to become pure fighter, so any combination of hearts that gives you +8 (like a +3 heart and a +5 heart) will do. Or higher (2 +5 hearts, or a single +20 heart).

Simply begin the LR process and as you level back up, every level where you took a class in monk or paladin, select fighter instead. If you don't have a +20 heart, you will need to go through the LR process at least twice which is a pain, but do-able.

So if you have a +5 heart and a +3 heart, the first time you LR (let's say the +5) you would replace 5 levels of paladin for fighter, so at the end you would be 17fighter/1paladin/2monk. Repeat the process with the +3 heart and you're all done. pure 20 fighter.

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.

There is a wait period between LR's.

I've been doing a lot of reading on the forums, not sure if its at all good. Staying in the same subject of lesser reincarnate, with my toon being a 12 F/6 Paly/ 2 Monk, can I get rid of the Monk levels and take 1 wizard and the other in either fighter or Paly for better defense? Please provide details so I don't mess this up. Thanks!

This involves four classes, so could be tricky.
Do you remember what level you took the Monk levels?
If not, you could ask Fred about exchanging feats, and look at which levels you took the Monk bonus feats (identifiable by the exchange options being restricted to the Monk feats).

Use a +3 or higher Lesser Heart of Wood. Level up one level at a time. When you get to the first Monk level choose Paladin (or Fighter) instead, then later when you get to the second Monk level choose Wizard instead.

This won't work, as the process still remembers you had the monk levels, so when you try to take wizard, even though you changed the 2 monk levels to fighter or paladin, you now have 4 classes "remembered " and so it will not let you take wizard.

You have to do this in TWO separate LR's

Use a +3 heart the first time, and swap your monk levels over to paladin or fighter. Complete the process up to L20. At the end you will be a fighter/pally - either 14/6, 12/8, or 13/7 depending on what you chose instead of the two monk levels.

Now wait three days and do another LR, and choose a lesser heart depending on how many levels you need to swap out (how many wizard levels you want). Just simply choose wizard instead of either fighter/pally.

Let me know what end result you want (f12/p6/w2, or whatever) and I can give you a better breakdown.

I wrote the book on this subject, but the short answer is: "yes you can." You need to exchange your first monk level for fighter or paladin; then when you get to the second monk level, you can exchange it for wizard, because the LR process is just barely smart enough to realize it's your only remaining monk level at that point.

Where this process would get a lot harder / more expensive is if you wanted to swap from F 12 / P 6 / M 2 to e.g. F 12 / ranger 6 / M 2, because you'd have to eliminate your paladin levels before you could take ranger (or anything else) instead. Gods help you if you want to switch from one alignment-restricted class to a different alignment-incompatible class (e.g., paladin -> barbarian)!

That has been false for years, u can do what the guy you linked without issues, that's how ppl does druid/barb/clr on pdk with a +1 heart for example
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm
