    Default Why are (most of) Shadar-kai racials so bad?

    I'll start by saying the core abilites are not bad. The rest are just so bad, do the devs even play the same game? The chain attack really is worthless, the fact that it calls for 7 AP to fully spec out is insult to injury and yes, I have tried it. Forceful chain adds a knock down, but everything I tested it on just resisted it on an acrobat rogue. The quarterstaff knock down worked great but the 'forceful' chain couldn't do squat. The damage sucks too. The 20 second chain is worse. A rogue standing there for 20 seconds (you can't move while active or it cancels) - couldn't they change this to useable while moving and condense all the damage into a 2 second attack? I say rogue class because this race was clearly designed with rogue in mind and it's basically just a fail. The other passives not related to the chain attack are ok and for actives, just winter favored is not bad. Shadow smoke seems like a waste of AP too. Gloom stalker design has me wondering - don't you want to assassinate out of sneak, not 'attack'? Aren't those 2 different? If so, couldn't they just add assassinate in with sneak attack, your option, so it sucked less?

    These racials need an overhaul, especially that dumb chain thing.

    I'm guessing the racials are what they are to keep DDO from turning into an alley full of toons that looked like crack-addled hobos.

    The movement abilities in the racial tree are really good. If the chain attack was worth anything you'd probably have 20% of the population playing a hobo for the maneuverability.

    There is no "racial trait" in shadar-kai except +2 dex / -2 cha.
    Some kind of "stacking incorporeality miss chance" might be proper for racial trait. Like 5%~10% passive miss chance that could stack with normal incorporeality miss chance.

    It is considered human, but, no bonus feat.

    Shadow Phase, Shadow Jaunt share cooldowns. And cooldown itself(30 sec or 1 min) is quite long.
    Think 'leap of faith(3 sec)' or 'abundant step(3 sec)' or 'Vault(15 sec)' or 'Wind Dance(3 sec)' cooldown.

    Chain attack is just a newbie trap. Too low spike damage. Raise its damage and scale up by melee/ranged power. And scale up speed by melee/ranged attack speed modifier.

    Winter Favored doesn't scale by melee / ranged power.

    Ghostly Essence and Improved Ghostly Essence are just useless.

    Nothing is hidden is at Tier 4, it requires too high AP investment, remember some class have it on very low tier or core.

    Some kind of assassination DC would be proper like 3 DC on tier 3 or 4.

    This iconic class needs severe over-haul.
