No. I didn’t say that. You can create a formula however you like and I’m suggesting that if you go dex or int based that the DC formula uses the stat you selected for different tack as the ability modifier instead of charisma.

    The current formula is:
    CDG DC = d20 + Perform skill

    Where,
Perform Skill = Perform ranks + ability modifier (charisma) + skill modifiers

    Thus,
CDG DC = d20 + Perform ranks + ability modifier + skill modifiers

My suggestion would be to change the CDG formula to use the ability modifier of the stat you selected for Different Tack, instead of charisma. If you go charisma based, the formula is the same. However if you go dex or int based then you dex or int modifier is used instead.

    What: Update Paladins
Why: Paladins are the red-headed step child of character classes, and they haven't been updated since update 23, which was released Sept 29th, 2014, almost five years ago.
Why not (counter-argument from the developers): This is a gothic version of D&D! We love undead, and devils, and bloody, invisible ink footprints! We HATE Paladins because they're a bunch of stuck up do-gooders. Grrr.
Suggestion: On a more serious note. I know that the plan is to update the Knight of the Chalice, which is great, but the one thing that you are REALLY missing is that people that gravitate to playing a Paladin want to play S&B. That would be my preference, but since S&B is SOOOO bad if I play a Paladin I go THF because that's at least not as bad, but is still not good. So, when the Knight of the Chalice update is worked, please consider updating Vanguard as well so that Paladins in general will have a viable option to go either THF or S&B.

    What: New Players
Why: Besides skills, which is natural, extreme power backloading and absurd power differential possible. Terrible quality-of-life-monkees on their backs. Too many options with insufficient guidance from environment.
Please consider the environment before printing this post

"So what you want is a boost to random loot and old named loot. Sounds good."

No, I'm admitting that Cannith Craft needs to come down instead, it should be a tier below named gear, like augments: you get a 10% Striding Topaz at 4th lvl, when random gear gives you 15%.
Cannith should exist to fill in any holes your gear missed. Instead, it's making named gear irrelevant.

"This is not a nerf thread. This is an underpowered thread."

Named loot is underpowered. In relation to Cannith. I'm not asking to nerf named loot.

"Nerfing Cannith crafting is not the answer. Increasing the power of old outdated items (including random loot) is the answer."

No, that only causes Power Creep and will throw 3-5 other things out of balance

"People spend literally years getting their Cannith crafting to the point where they can make all those items. "

    ?? 2 months here.

When I'm zerging, I'm not even bothering to stop for the chests. There is nothing dropping that is better than my Cannith Crafted Gear.

Even the "pure" random loot (ie. Combustion of Fire Lore, etc) that drops 1%is of lesser than what I could craft.

    What: Monk

Why: Ki based attack chains (fire, fire, fire) too clunky, not fluid.

Suggestion: change the ki attack chains to have no cooldown until after the sequence is completed with a finisher, then have a 3-5 second cooldown before another chain can be started.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What: Sorc/Wiz Eldritch knight hit and damage.

Why: No to hit and damage off of main stat. Shouldn't have to invest in Harper to get hit and damage with a main stat.

Suggestion: Give each a spell similar to Insightful Strike/Damage for hit and damage.

    Default Shadar-kai Iconic race

    What : Shadar-kai Iconic race

Why : No racial traits except stat, No human free feat, weak chain attacks, weak but expansive enhancements.

    Suggestion :
    1. Racial traits : +5% racial bonus for incorporal miss chance, +15% stacking sneak movement speed, no tumble and jump skill penalty while in sneak

    2. Gain human bonus feat.

    3. chain attacks scales with 1000% of melee / ranged power

    4. Shadow phase and shadow jaunt have separate cooldown, both cooldown has 10s.

    5. Assassination DC in enhancement

    6. cheaper AP for most enhancement

    7. Active pseudo-assassinate skill like executioner strike or execute that doesn't share cooldown with other skills.

    8. Stat for 4th core like any other races.

    What:
    Thief Acrobat
    Why:
It cannot compare to an assassin rogue. This is, in part, because TWF now dominates THF (and this is particularly bad when it comes to rogues, given the importance sneak attack has for their DPS), and because assassin can boost DPS with vistani more effectively than TA.
    Suggestions:
Part will need to come from THF revamp, but q staff builds have been weak for far too many years. I think it is time to a accept that there is something inherently weak about the style, and a more significant fix needs to be made targeting specifically this whole style of fighting.

    What:
    DDO - OE

    Why:
DDO is two games in one:

DDO - OE (Original Edition). This is a fantasy MMORPG based on the game Dungeons and Dragons. It's really fun. This game is still available to soloists, static groups, and, for a limited time, to VIPs on Hardcore.

DDO - WGMGE (Weird Grindy Meta Game Edition). This is based on DDO - OE, but in this version of the game, you zerg through content as fast as possible and repeatedly, trying to suck out every available ounce of permanent character power and twink gear. It also helps if you use xp pots, run the current OP FOTM build, do dice re-rolls, use discovery pots, etc. Once you reach a level of power that trivializes DDO - OE rules, there is a special mode you can play in to help nerf you back down. This game has a similar feel to DDO - OE, but it feels... I dunno, sleazier? Less interesting?

DDO - OE is vastly underperforming compared to DDO - WGMGE.

    Suggestions:
Since DDO - WGMGE didn't come with a clean uninstaller...
Keep doing seasonal servers with big power creep resets.
Possibly make a permanent server where DDO - WGMGE is never installed in the first place.

    What: Kukris
    Why: Vistani

    Further Comments/Suggestions:
    1) Allow kukris to be used in Vistani tree somewhere within it, such as adding them to Deadly Blades. "You can now use Kukris for Vistani." Just do not expand the threat range in the core One with Blades; that is fair.
    2) allow any kukri to keep a monk centered so long as they have an MG or EMG in one of their other hands and anyway it would be centering under Deadly Blades should one wish to use that tree (this is a separate proposal from adding kukris to Vistani). Hey, it is a weaponized melee monk, not like we see lots of them running around...

    Why Bother:
    1. we want weapon diversity
    2. Personal: I have a lot of nice kukris collecting dust, including a GS radiance one...and 2 EMGs, so beautiful...And I am not alone in this...

    Why Not Do This:
Kukris will still have a better expanded threat range than daggers in a Vistani build (15-20/3 instead of 16-20). I am not sure how to 'correct' this; suggestions? Maybe have One with blades make the profile 16-20/3? Is that even possible?

    What: Shiradi for casters
Why: Damage scaling is still based on 100% spellpower as it was close to a decade ago and is immensely outdated
Suggestion: Change spell scaling to 150-200%. Even at 200%, which doubles the damage on current procs, it's still VERY far behind any sort of DPS build

    What: Bow feats and abilities
Why: Because bows are completely useless right now. Not a little useless, completely useless
Suggestion: Cut Manyshot cooldown to 40 seconds so it has 50% uptime. Add a large amount of fort bypass into AA tree, like 5-10% per core

What: Average player's will to improve
Why: Easier for them to rely on gimmicks from the dev team, such as the HC server, to achieve parity than to put in work themselves
Suggestion: Aspire to greatness instead of wishing to bring others to your level. One is the path of heroes, the other is the path of failures.

    What: Quest XP, still
Why: Quests like Irestone and the entire STK chain are such putrid xp per time invested that I'll never run them again
    Suggestion: Make quests worth running

What: Server populations and by proxy of that playing options
Why: They're either empty or brimming with people mindlessly running lives
Suggestion: Make running at cap worth it for the mindless grinders or, even better, allows free server transfers. Quickly getting to the point where it's time to walk away.

    What: Monk elemental attacks
Why: no one uses them unless doing a rare buff and people do not wish to disrupt more useful finishers like Healing Ki

Suggestions: Make it a toggle that adds elemental damage on hit like EK spellsword that scales with Forms feats and melee power. I would have this as an option; you can whackamole elemental attacks for full damage or have 1/3 added on toggle.

    What: short swords
Why: Despite many having expanded threat, their lack of multiplier such as even longsword’s can get now with knight’s training make them a flavor trap. Ninja’s are not strong enough to justify that route and only bards seem to be able to make them handy—but a dagger with Vistani is simply better there too

Suggestions: 1) Feat: Legionaire. the weapon of the Roman Legions...how art though denigrated...I would give it superior abilities with Tower shields since the stabbing motion is fluid—eg when used with a tower shield, gain x% doublestrike or something
    2) Feat: Dimarchaemus. when using identical shortswords in each hand, give full offhand damage and +10% offhand chance. They become like fangs with even weight and honors that gladiatorial style. This will synergize with ninjas while limiting them by named weapon, eg two razorends or two envenomed blades.

Shortswords are a Swashbuckler weapon. A Bard splash gives them that multiplier boost.
No such class buff exists for Longswords, hence, they got a feat.
You can get doublestrike using a Shortsword and a Tower Shield. That feat is called Shield Mastery!

Shortswords are the weapon of choice for CHA based PDK bards, so they do have a niche. No weapon is going to be universal-BIS, they all are going to be targeted to a specific subset of builds.

SDK have the advantage of being an Iconic with Rogue as L1. That's the start for a lot of builds that are /2 rogue for trapping.

What: Gameplay fun of melee abilities like tactics and class abilities.

Why: Most older active melee abilities are clunky to use, on long CD and/or have small effect. Using them is just a chore for a bit extra DPS instead of actually being strategic and fun.

Suggestions: Every ability in the game should be designed from a gameplay perspective first, numbers game second. Numbers get outdated every other expansion, but gameplay is forever.
Example: Tactics should be on lower cooldown. It's fine to give them shorter durations to compensate. There should also be some kind of low heroic AoE tactic before Dire Charge that decreases mob damage output. Every class tree should have abilities on moderate cooldown that are actually useful. More than 10 seconds is a big no-no unless it's really awesome, 5 seconds is better. Unarmed Whirlwind is a good example of a melee ability that is both effective, responsive, appropriate cooldown, and is fun to use. Make everything like that.

    What: Sword and Boards Style
Why : Underperforms and we want more people to go it

Suggestion: Remove 1 second cooldown on shieldbash procs.
To the S&B feat line (which are fairly underwhelming feats) Add:
    > +1[w] (like PBS)
    > Improved crit profile for shield... much like knights training or swords to plowshares.
    > To shield deflection - Some combination of dodge&dodge cap / AC / PRR / Chance to ignore avoid hit (like elusive target) ... while blocking. So that it also has a physical component (no one takes it for the elemental alone)
