Default High Lords will host Hound of Xoriat teaching raids on Saturday, June 22 at 2pm ET

Summer is almost here and our 2019 teaching raid series comes to a close this week. Our final event of the year will include a fun trek into the Subterrane with heroic and legendary Hound of Xoriat this Saturday, June 22 at 2pm ET.

All events in this series are for players new(er) raiding or players who are looking to learn raids better. First timers welcome! Please have sound and be willing and able to follow instructions.

The goal is to welcome newer players into the raiding scene, to teach people how raids work, to get players more comfortable with raids, and to enhance the Sarlona community. There is no level cap for any of our teaching raids but you need to be at least level 14 to enter the Subterrane and you will need to be at least level 20 to enter legendary content.

If you are new to HOX, there is no flagging required. You will need to have access to the Vale of Twilight adventure pack. Heroic HOX is located in the Subterrane and is confusing to find for many players. We will start from the market and show you how to get to and open the way to the raid. We will also be exploring a fun and off the beaten path area called "The Deep Tunnels", where we will hope to find Xithzul, Son of Xyzzy, the Frost Fiend of Madness and we will swim through a lake of acid to find the Beholder Council!

We will be teaching HOX using the "Hall tanking" method, but we will also be discussing the more traditional "circle" and "collapse" methods so that you will understand the differences and benefits of each. We will use the heroic raid for teaching and then apply what we learn to the legendary raid, which uses the same mechanics. Heroic and Legendary HOX are distinct, so doing the heroic version will not put you on timer for the legendary raid.

Space is limited so reserve your spot ahead of time! If you would like to reserve a space in this Saturday's event, please contact me in game on Gingerspyce.

This event will be live streamed on my twitch channel twitch.tv/vooduspyce so even if you're not on Sarlona, you can watch, learn and ask questions live.

Thank you to the community for all the support and special thanks to DDOCast and DDO Chronicle for mentioning our events. We hope to see you in raids soon!

    Much love,
Gingerspyce and The High Lords of Malkier

    Default Awesome runs!

We had 6 signups for our final teaching raid event of 2019 and we had textbook completions of both heroic and legendary Hound of Xoriat! We used the heroic raid as the teaching instance, where we showed our preferred "hall tanking" method, but afterwards we discussed the other popular methods and the benefits and disadvantages of each. Then we applied what was learned to the legendary raid and it went flawlessly. You can watch the replay of the live stream on my Twitch channel vooduspyce.

This was our 6th year of hosting teaching raids and perhaps the best attendance ever. We met a lot of new friends and we are looking forward to seeing you in our other public raid events! Big thanks to my guildies for taking the time away from their other DDO projects to help with teaching raids every week, and thanks to DDOCast and DDO Chronicle for mentioning the events and to the rest of the community for your support.

Although teaching raids are done with for the year, we hope to bring them back again after the New Year. in the meantime, High Lords hosts many other public raid nights, including Monday-Tuesday Legendary Shroud, Thursday Abbotfest with heroic abbot, Friday Night Raidfest with Mark of Death, Fire on Thunder Peak, Defiler of the Just and Riding the Storm Out, as well as our newly added bi-weekly Monday Titan raid. Other public raids will soon be added to our lineup.

Our full schedule of public raid nights is posted in the Sarlona forum at Raid Nights with the High Lords of Malkier!

We hope to see you in raids soon

    Much love,
Gingerspyce and the High Lords of Malkier
