Default What happen to wizards retaining their spells in their spell book after reincarnate?

What happen to wizards retaining their spells in their spell book after reincarnate? I reincarnated my wizard and at level 1 training I had no spells to select and actually had no spells after training. Then at level 2 training I had spells to select and lost all my spells I had before reincarnation. A friend had the same issue.

What kind of reincarnate are you talking about? True Reincarnated? Lesser Reincarnate?

Ah, first TR with my wizard. I though I remember reading years ago that we would keep our spells in a TR. Guess it was for LR.

Really wish our spellbook was a physical inventory item that we could bequeath upon our next life. So annoying to have to re-learn all those spells.

This would make for a cool BTC sentient off-hand item, kind of like an orb. Even better with special comments unique to spellbooks as opposed to the weapons' comments. Any added sentient gems and/or abilities could be level-gated so it's not op at low levels.

For what it's worth it seems to me that the original poster was right in thinking spells learned in previous lives SHOULD be retained upon reincarnation. I know things aren't done that way but how is a spell scroll read and learned at some point in one of your lives different than a tome that is read once and retained in every life hereafter?

Its actually VERY expensive to buy up all the spell scrolls, then inscription materials per scroll, then hunt ah for more spell scrolls, then buy more inscription materials, 100000 plat isnt enough for it.
    Both Wiz and arty.
