Default Where are you Mr. Romblemore?

The quest giver Orben Romblemore is MIA from the Harbour. His quest icon shows up on the Harbor map, but when you go there, he is missing. Cannot get the quest because of this.

Known issue and the fix is being released tomorrow.

    https://www.ddo.com/en/update-42-patch-2-release-notes

Until then, he's actually INSIDE the dock, sunken into the floor. If you dive into the water and use the backspace key, you might be able to select and interact with him.
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.

Feature wishlist: colour-coded HP bars; red/blue teams in raids; rez-timer in party menu; equip-able halflings

Known issue. Sometimes he drops through the floor. If you swim underneath where he normally stands, you can tab him in order to start the dialogue and enter the quest (also get end rewards). I feel sorry for him, since it must be really dark in there.

Last night in a Memoirs run, I noticed that Calumnie(spelling?) had dropped through the floor where you first enter the quest, just his head was visible behind the desk. This boded poorly for the rest of the quest, as you can experience a bug in here that puts you behind a visible grid and does not let you progress to the gather points, but all went well. He is the same race as Orben I believe.

Another interesting, possible racial affliction I have noticed is with Dwarven Males(not sure if females suffer from it) is their recent tendency to have a 'seizure'. This includes a rigor mortis posture with their left arm thrust to the side and their left leg drawn up. They then proceed to spin on their right foot. If you are in House K buying divine mats from the vendor, just watch him for awhile. The other one that I noticed doing the exact same thing is Evan Greybeard in the Sharn quest.

The dwarven thing is truly disturbing. If they ever want to continue the Madness line of quests, they only need to tweak the humanoid races in this manner. It would be a 4-5 quest series called The Puppetmaster. An insane (aren't they all) Illithid who fancies itself a playwright is producing and directing its masterpiece. Control Freak would be one of the quests, and of course this would have to take place in Sharn.

Another note. While running a halfling through The Lost Shipment, I found that they no longer swim as they used to. They "swim" along on top of the water, hovering just a bit.

This would actually be a very thematically humorous way to intentionally place a quest giver for a future quest. Something where according to the story line the quest giver has been attacked by something aerial (griffons? pirates in airships? OOOh! Red dragons!) and is so terrified from the event that the only way he can feel safe is to hide in the water under a dock or a partially submerged rock grotto.

After today's patch, Mr. Romblemore should be back on top of the docks.

Thanks for the info. We think we have a handle on the root cause now (though not yet why it happens only on some servers.) A fix will be in a future patch.

If I were a dev, I would have left him under there and added an explanatory note to the dialogue box, maybe just pushed him out a little more so one can see him and add someone helper above looking down into the water to cue players

Gather round for the tale of Mr. Romblemore,
The gnome who wouldn't stand on docks any more
His physique, you see, was specially designed
To make it possible to reward all those he mined
    For activities just and true
Old Mr. Romblemore speaks to you.

But oh! The back pain he endures
Carrying all those weapons, armours, and tools
So much so, you see, he breaks reality
And thus finds himself between walls and floors.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

So... when he generated end reward lists, his weight increased, and he eventually fell though the dock?
