Default Trade Raid Runes for either other Raid Runes or Threads of Fate?

Would be great to trade unused Raid tunes (from raids where I have all I need) to either runes for other raids (not an even swap), or Threads of Fate.

This should add interest in running some less popular raids while on timer for the ones you are interested in.

if we do this i say its only downgrading them - ie you can trade strahd for hound but not hound for strahd

Even in a "downgrade-only" scenario, things can get fairly subjective, and we want to avoid (among other things) scenarios where only the Raid of Least Resistance gets run - The shortest, fastest, easiest-to-complete that's high enough tier to downgrade to whatever you want.

At any rate: Raid Runes are a replacement for the 20th Completion List mechanic; it's meant to help prevent especially bad runs of luck from getting a particular Raid item you're searching for. To that end, you need to run the Raid in question to get it. We don't plan on altering that any time soon.
We don't only build for the builds that exist.
We don't only build for the builds that are good right now.

The fact that some changes are necessary is not diminished by the fact that other necessary changes have not happened yet.

Could you add something else of value to trade runes for...maybe rare scrolls or Lesser hearts? Something that doesn't affect game balance?

While a bit out of the scope of this conversation, I heartily approve of anything (raid or not) that helps prevent especially bad runs of luck. Please embrace this!

Thanks for all your efforts, they are appreciated!

I agree on this but i also see there could be potential in tradeing in runes for something else , perhaps augemts for the specific raid could be an option, and an options to trade runes in for treads of fate seems to be a cool idea aswell, lastly perhaps coms of valor trade in. I would love to see cosmetic options for the raids aswell those could be very expensive as the only way to get em would be trough that specific raid and with teh runes from it.

Why not let me trade in the loot I pull that I dont even want? Trade that axe I'll never use into 312 runes.

This is an interesting idea, but I think they already created an option for that by "feeding" unwanted named items to a sentient gem or minor artifact.

It is nice to think that some players do have everything they could want from a raid. One of the things I like about the raid runes is that they are Bound to Account, so players like me that play more then one character still have options.

I do feel that it would get rather subjective on the trading up/down on runes. As there are raids that have little to no gear for some builds, and others that have an item that could work for any build.

That being said, I would not be against adding other options at appropriate costs. Such as tomes such as Fate points, Racial APs, Universal Tree APs, Skill boosts or Guild Renown. Of course tomes are the same type as what can be bought in the store so they don't stack but simply give another path to earning them.

I would ask for a reward of some raidrunes by the quest givers upon completing a quest and/saga reward option please.

trading for tomes up to 2 or 3 levels lower than offered by the raid. offering only upgrade tomes may chew tunes in raids with no valid loot

With something like this I wouldn't mind seeing them be able to be used as a currency for minor things like certain consumables, but I think that that is already the case.

As stated by Steel, it would likely cause some balance-issues, which may have the reverse effect of it's intention, and may drive players to run only content that is the path of least resistance.

On that note, perhaps a bonus for running a raid/quest that is rarely run is in order? Perhaps a timer that tells you when it's been over X days since you've run a raid (that you own), which may encourage players diving back into old content?

A steelstar said, they add the rune in place of the 20 completions, the runes are bound to account and not to char, so you can make the raid with different ttons or/and different reincarnation to get the stuff you seek.
=> All is do in favor of the player and not only one toon, it's a good thing and amelioration in the gameplay.
At this point, IMO, the only change that could be considered is the possibility to trade back unwanted raid stuff for runes of the same raid.

I'd like to see runes added for the older raids, along with a new version of a Raider's Box that awards runes for each of the older raids based on the number of completions that character has.

Before you ask, yes, I've killed Lailat more than a hundred times. More than two hundred if you count the preraid.

(Also worth noting that activated raid timers prevent you from resetting Zawabi, even if you're off timer.)
