An amusing misunderstanding after some drunk artificers were discussing the future of mechanical contraptions in the bedroom.

Merrix d'Cannith needed a few thousand focusing mirrors for his new super death laser. All of which needed to be scattered across the the face of Eberron, be completely mobile, and accepted by society until the day Merrix was ready to strike. One consultation to House Cannith Marketing resulted in the Warforged Peacock.

    Why were Warforged Peacocks created?
Something needed to come out of those Fabergé eggs.

    Why were Warforged Peacocks created?

    The creators wanted impressionistic birds.

Because the people of Sharn don't ask if they should do something. They just ask if they can do something.

On a drunken bet, and it just kinda took on a life of its own from there.

The nobility wanted to keep peacocks on their estates as walking decorations, but real ones presented the problem of cleaning up their... leavings.

Olive, the warforged peacocks were created because real peacocks couldn't survive the pollution and smog of the lower city and cogs of Sharn.

As for the high society people, they wouldn't want real peacocks to injure their children playing with them.

Your artificers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.

The Warforged created peacocks as a beautification project, they wanted to create something that would match organic beauty.

Warforged chickens lay boring brown eggs and the artificers wanted their breakfast to have more pizzazz. Thus they created warforged peacocks to lay Faberge eggs.
