Colorless augment of teleport to guild airship and an overhaul of the whole augment system so they scale properly with level. This would make so many items relevant again.

Edit: Devs could go as far as eliminating 90% of the augments and make it so that you get a strength augment put it in a level 1 item get 1 strength; a level 20 item get 9 strength scaled just like cannith crafting.

Just going to point out for everyone using current sets to make their decision... If sharn has as much gear as ravenloft, pretty good chance you'll have to redo your gear layouts anyways.

As you may have noticed from the answers, many people feel that the sets are a problem to replace items. I add to these people. If you really want to do something novel that sells well, create a system in which we can add sets to the items. That would make the expansion tremendously popular, facilitate the change of an object, and revalue a few objects.

Going back to the original question ... a single item? Will that item form part of a set or not? For melee or caster, or for what class? Because the needs are really different in all those cases.

And without knowing for whom it will be designed and without knowing if the item will be part of a set or we will have to exclude it from our previous sets, it is difficult to decide the slot

The item is exclusive to server. Once a character finds it, it is removed from the treasure tables.

The item has limited durability, and cannot be repaired. As soon as it is 'destroyed', it disappears from that character and returns to the loot tables.

It cannot be banked. Even as a backpack item, it garners damage as if equipped.
It can be tossed out of pack, which essentially 'destroys' the item for return to the lists.
If the item detects it's owner has not logged in for 1 week of real time, it self-destroys and returns to the lists.
The owning character has a unique aura similar to Diablo's Tal Rasha set:

It's just that he's been around long enough to know some folks always fail their sarcasm detection rolls.

I like this idea.
It would also have to be impossible to pass the item from one character to another in chests. And I'd change the log-in thing to three days on the character that has the item in question. Possibly even make it so the character would have to spend time in level-appropriate quests. Or else just have the item self-destruct after a week no matter what.

This is maybe actually within the margins of doability.




I am personally not a huge fan for shuffling for exceptional-rare-exotic items.

Would probably suggest:

Weave in the Fade / Improv invis clicky
Wraithly +20% version of Ghostly.
New Feat: Anti Tremor Sense, delays Auto Spot of creatures by 3d2 seconds, instead of instantly triggering them once in range.
Quicker Draw Feat, whatever QD does just quicker

Afaik augment slots dont take up effect slots, moahr stength or wisdom for you guys .

since aug slot doesn't count add quality spell pen as 4th slot

In reality they should make a caster and melee flavor, but make both goggles stat-neutral meaning don't favor one main stat over another.
