    Default Guild

WTB guild, ideally level 150 or up. No idea what a price looks like for this. I would be changing the guild name. Thanks

Payment could be related to Otto's box's, expansion codes, cannith essences, in game items. Really depends on if there is anyone interested.

Just out of morbid curiosity - what exactly are you planning to use for currency on this purchase?

He could easily do it w/ astral shards, tho' w/ something like this, it's ultimately up to the creativity of both parties.

This could grow into a new economy.
Make veteran toon, make 5 other accounts, get guild potions and run pirate saga ad nausea. And don't forget the bottle of rum. You will need it.

    I am also just curious,

Why do you need a high level guild? :P

Isn't it possible to have all guild buffs at level 1 (or at least, at low level) ?

Sounds to me like it's cheaper to simply buy all these AS buffs instead of buying a guild to buy those for platinum.

Unless you're looking for a pretty number of course, but I personally can't see any practical use. But correct me if i'm wrong really.

No, it's not possible to have all the guild buffs at level 1, or "low level".

If he's going after purely buffs, then a guild of level 55+ would do providing they have the Kraken. The only difference between a high level guild and a guild of level 60-100, is:

    1 hr on buff duration
Guild Vault storage space (GL 150 usually everything is unlocked)
% on the onboard guild experience

Anything else after this is layers on previous (eg: Grand Reliquary, Stormreavers Memorial, etc) - check it out.

For a level 150 guild+ which would probably mean a Kraken purchased under the old price of 5,350 shards (not the 'newer' price which is 4,000 shards). Then you have all the additional deeds etc that can be purchased via plat or shards, ranging from 20 through to 500 apiece.. you might be spending a fair bit of cash via SSG.

    Amenities is the main one.

    o https://ddowiki.com/page/Guild_Airships#Amenities_list

Also, if buying the ship w/ platinum instead of shards, bigger guild = bigger ship.

    o https://ddowiki.com/page/Guild_Airships#Models

And a top-of-the-line plat ship is almost as good as the equiv shard model. 5 instead of 7 stateroom hooks (which doesn't matter at all if you can live w/o the crafting), and 22 instead of 26 holdrooms, so you have to cut something out there - but at 22, you have most of what you need.

    Default Ship crasher

I hadn't put nearly the thought into this as you all have lol. My wife may end up playing and my son plays. Just wanted easy access to buffs and for teleporting around and such. He's not old enough yet to play in groups where i can't monitor content and such. And didn't wanna put him in a random guild for the same reasons. With all the dead guilds around i thought i might be able to pick something up cheap. There's so many that have left game or are down to 1 or 2 players on Orien that it didn't seem implausible especially since i planned on changing the name anyway.

    Have a look here: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...d-a-Guild-here
You might find a guild that takes you and your family on without the issues you describe.

Ah, okay. So nothing as sinister as what it looked like at first.

If no purchase opportunity presents itself, you could get a new guild up fairly quickly as a family. You, wife, and son running Sagas a few times with renown pots at turn-in (and better win on a renown bonus week) would build yourself up quickly.

Unfortunately those that are departing from DDO, don't read the forums either.

I have approached a couple of people i know who do have more than 1 guild under their belt, but they are pack hoarders and use the airships for storage, and thanked me for thinking of them, but wasn't interested.

I agree with what cdbd said, getting a new guild up fairly quickly can be done. In some ways it becomes more of an achievement. When my TR partner and I were levelling our airship, we'd be bouncing YAY when we unlocked something, and never mind in Oct 2015 when the Kraken was able to be purchased. For us, that was awesome When she wanted more space, she was "Imma gonna do another" and that's what she did.. Over rank 65 now, and that's enough for all the buffs.

Give it a go. The buffs and such, if you ask people - they'll give you invites to their airships if necessary.

This thread is targeted at amassing 6 Guild Airships for storage, but if you pare it back to just 1 ship the principles still apply:

I was under the impression that you could buy all amenities at level 1 with AS, just like the Kraken ship.
Buff duration is another nice bonus of course.

    You could:
    1. Find a guild that will accept your family (ideally a less active and mature guild). You can simply disable all guild-chat in your sons chat, so he doesn't get anything you don't accept of. You basically then have free ship buffs :P
    2. Like others said, make your own. But be prepared for a loooooong journey. I wouldn't recommend it.
    3. Continue searching for a high level guild. It's going to be expensive I imagine though.
    4. Just ask people in-game for the occasional airship invite. People usually just invite you, no issue really. 5 hours is quite some time, and it pauses outside quests.
    5. Erm, i forgot

A looong time ago, I traded a +5 mithil full plate set of armor for a defunct guild with ship. Of course this was when you rented the amenities and they were scattered around the decks. And before Cannith crafting. And when level 16 was cap. Dang, WAS a long time ago.

Is there such a thing as renaming a guild? Where?

Edit - Never mind, found it:

My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

Have you tried it, to actually speak from experience as to whether or not you'd recommend it? I ask b/c few have.

I have 2 Guild ships - one is approaching Level 60, and that's been a slog for 1 player, no argument there.

But the 2nd I started maybe 6 weeks ago*, and, alone, it's already almost to Level 30, ample for most of the basics. Obviously, most would want GL 35 for the consolidation that Staterooms provide, but point is it's not that long a march, and would only be faster w/ 3 players. (Each player w/ 1 alt account, or some math that = 6 active(!) Accounts total in the Guild. See Renown boosts re Guild Size)

(* Helped that I ran a handful of Sagas during the recent Guild Renown boost bonus week, for 90k renown each. If that's all you did, that'd take 2 dozen runs. Dragging a drone thru (any Lvl 5 will work) doubles your return, and any Guild Pot more than doubles it again.)

It has been a long time since I actually bothered with getting renown since I've always been in Matrix. But a few years ago I did try to level up a fresh guild, which was much slower than I expected. This was before Sagas, though, so I agree that it's faster now. Still, the OP doesn't strike me as a player that would be interested in grinding out sagas for the sake of guild renown (and, also, not a very active player overall), so I imagine him taking many months to have a guild Level 100+. For me personally, that's just not worth the effort. But that's of course different for everyone ^^

Some theory crafting. Not sure how the math really works out though.
6-person guild (+300% renown), with the best guild renown pot (+200+100%).
Does that mean the 15000 is scaled to 15000 * 4 * 4 in total? So 240k each saga? Wew that's quite an amount. Level 150 guild requires 95 mil renown, so that means it would take 396 saga runs?

Now i'm just guessing. Let's say you can do 1 heroic saga zerg every 30 minutes, it would take you 198 hours. Realistically speaking, with a bit of devotion to it, 3 hours of grinding per day? So then you're looking at 66 days of farming, so 2 months.

    Hmmm... :P

Edit: Oh yeah, you can drive yourself crazy by multi-boxing 6 accounts and netting 6*240k a run hah

Anyhow, this sounds like a huge chore compared to the other options, but that's me
