Default A Fighter splashing FS or cleric?

Returning player with a Human fighter, currently L7, with 3 past lives. I'm currently dependent on hires for healing, but would like to splash something to be more self-sustaining for when I start grouping again. I was thinking of splashing FS or cleric? What do you think about this, and how would I go about it?

Currently: Fighter 7, human, lawful good, +7 tomes to all stats, with current items equipped...
    STR 27
    DEX 21
    CON 22
    INT 16
    WIS 17
    CHA14

    Thanks in advance

Not really an answer to your question, but fighter dps is really nice right now. Splashing to heal will lower it by a bit. And with the reaper system in place, people are running healers again, so it's not unusual to group with them.

Additionally, it plays out that thinking about multi-classing after you begun progress in character development can lead to a build that you are even less satisfied with so you will want to be careful in how you do this.

That being said there are some questions you will need to have answered...

    1. How many levels of "Splash" are you considering?

This effects the number and spell level available and also what abilities are available. For Example if going two levels then you will have access to the first Cleric Domain ability.

    2. Is FvS or Cleric your only options?
Knowing the number of levels you are splashing with and also reviewing your Attributes to make sure you are compatible with that class could be a deciding factor. It would be bad to have and casting attribute too low to use to cast the spell.

Would classes like Druid or Artificer be more synergetic with your build. Both have low level healing access (artificer both positive energy as well as repair, druid with Heal over time)

Also, could you achieve helping to heal the party via other means? Maybe if a Halfling using the dragonmarks. Or as a Rogue/Artificer have enough UMD to use wands/scrolls

A single level of classes like Ranger and Paladin will get you access to using up to cure serious wands when you meet the character level to use them. You won't need UMD to use them.

Before I started using soundburst, I liked to splash 2 cleric for divine healing+might. It is all I generally needed for heroic elite streaking. Combined with soundburst, it is all I generally needed for low reaper streaking.

I found the 11 AP to get divine healing to be more useful than the 13 AP to get defensive stance + 20% hp.

Kensai and cleric a beautiful thing

Would there be any advantage in going with favored soul instead?

OP has gotten good alternative answers now, but I will QFT this tidbit.^^^

Speaking as someone who also once made the mistake of splashing a bit of Cleric onto an established Fighter - it sucked horribly at the time. That was before a lot of Enhancement revamps, but still. Have a plan before ya make the move.
