    Default Spell Component Bag

    Hi all,

I said it before and I will say it again!

WE NEED A SPELL COMPONENT BAG!

Exclusive item, 12 slots of 500 each.
    Sold at the DDO store!

    Spells can see inside it.

Note: this should be a bit cheaper than a 1/2 of an inventory sack in DDO points, perhaps 1/3.

    Cheers

If memory serves (and it may well not, I'm an old fart) the reason spell component bags are not a thing is the spell engine cannot (could not?) look inside the bag and grab the correct item. It only can grab the first item (quivers anyone, bolt in the first slot as an archer == out of ammo), and if the first item is not what you need, the casting will fail.

That said, the crafting system CAN look inside ingredient and collectable bags for a specific component now, so that hurdle may no longer be an issue.

    Default Just sayin'

    Some improvement would be nice.

I just roll with Eschew Materials via Harper Tree or Feat. I basically stick to spells that work with the Feat.

In my opinion Eschew Materials should work with all spells and end of story.

At least a bag would save some inventory space for the spells that don't work with the Feat. Make the bag stack to 10.000 inside as well.

Speaking of storage, can we have a tab in teh Shared Bank just for philigrees/augments?

    Please and Thanks!

What I really want, is a bag for trapmaking traps. I want to be able to store all of my grenades.

    This.

Same reason given for no potion boxes or scroll cases. Altho' for those, in many cases it'd be perfectly acceptable if we had to manually take them out and put them in visible inventory to use them - anything to relieve the clutter.

    This.

I am perfectly happy manually pulling things out of bags (well, not really, but under the circumstances...yes)
It makes total sense to I guess. If you didn't find it first and have it ready to go, you shouldnt be able to hotbar it. and if you need it in a pinch and you didn't prepare it, you need to go rummaging through your bags, mid combat, for it.

I have been told similar reasons why they can't give us a wardrobe system for cosmetics.
In the same vein as this... I would be REALLY happy with a cosmetics bag (omg that just sounds wrong to me) that I could keep all my cosmetic items in... again, perfectly happy to manually pull them out if I want to equip them,

    Unfortunately, yes!
Personally I do not like the omni dust/stone.

I really like that I need spell components (even in the simplified version of DDO), it makes it feel more D&D.

Also, as the mechanic is there I would like if there was Special components that you could add to make your spells more powerful or more cheap to cast!

What if omni dust was not just the component. But when used together with the normal component your spells costs 1% less spell points!
And what if that diamond (a gem) you found could be consumed together with the casting of a stoneskin to increase your CL by 1.

    etc...

I would also like to see a bag for the components, it is not really fair that a caster always has to use a lot of inventory slots for spell components, one is enough.

The existence of this omni dust and stones is basically another slap in the face of the DDO players.
Do you have to pay for using only one slot for your components?
    I say NO!

I remember suggesting this about a decade ago, but sadly it cannot be implemented. I just learned to prioritize. The only thing I would suggest is to make a new tab in the inventory and call it spell bag and charge X amount of money at the ddo store. That way the program can access the spell materials.

Hey Devs? What if we could buy a special inventory tab for spell ingredients? Then the spells wouldn't have to be re coded you could just code that tab to only allow spell ingredients? Problem solved Your Welcome.

P.S. : DDO STORE ONLY ITEM would sell like hotcakes!

I believe a spell components bag would be a plus simply because spell components wouldn't take so much inventory space then anymore.

That requires some planning, though : Taking out the needed components out of the bag before beginning a quest or a raid ...
