    No one post the definitive tank build so I'll do, here my current version of this build that made me fall in love with tank. It's obviuos that you need a party to play but don't worry, everyone want a tank for rxp it will easy to party.

    The heavy armor feats are nice but I'm curious if they compare
    You can run level cap quests for epic xp, but you can't run non-level cap quests for RXP when you're capped.

    Forcefield work great heavy armor feat add 30 PRR/MRR if u can take all but the result to boost from more ore less 400 to 430 gives not a a big result in term of mitigation: formula for calculate the DMG u take after PRR is: 100/(100+PRR) so if we consider 400 & 430 the difference in terms of mitigation is just 1,13%

    Nice write-up!
    I am considering a similar build and I figured I would get your thoughts on a few issues/choices I have been weighing out since you obviously put a lot of time into this already.

    A few questions on your choices:

    Why wizard at level 1? If you took arty at level one you would get 8 more skill points and be able to use repeating crossbows early in leveling.

    Why paladin and not fighter?
    +14-17 saves, fear immunity, and 4 lay on hands with pally vs. 3 more feats if you went Fighter (like Heavy Armor Training: +3 PRR/MRR) plus tower shield proficiency for free. Basically the same enhancement trees.

    Did you consider just 12 or 13 Arty? You would loose 1 level 5 and 1 level 6 spell. You are a tank, let someone else cast Deadly Weapons.
    You could then take 3 wizard and get Arcane Barrier: Passive: When your HP drop below 50% of maximum, you are immediately protected by an Arcane Barrier that reduces all incoming damage by 25% for the next 10/15/20 seconds. This effect may only trigger once every 150/120/90 seconds.
    This would require 9 more AP spend in the EK tree of course (would need to cut these out of the SD tree).

    Why Mass Frog? Is a Wisdom of less than 70 going to actually work on anything?
    Why not dire charge instead? Maybe that DC would be ineffective as well?

    Why Giants Platter vs Legendary Mirrorplate (especially if you get the tower shield prof from fighter)?
    +15 Enhancement Bonus (same)
    Spell Save +16
    Quality Magical Sheltering +12 (same)
    Block Elements
    Mirror Shield (+50 MRR while blocking)
    Empty Purple Augment Slot
    Adherent of the Mists Set (Legendary) - you could then drop the Cursebane Ring for something much better and still keep you 5pc set bonus.

    Regarding wiz lvl I just wrote the build on the planner straight did not take care of point

    Paladin give me 11 loh with a recharge rate of 1 each 144sec if you combine this with light the dark is a mass cure that always help

    15 lvl of arti are needed not only for spell

    mass frog is funny and with a switch i can actually toss 74dc that can raised easely up to if u got lot of rp but already work on skelly and scarecrow

    i hate tower shield and giant platter is part of a set giving +2 con and +5 natural armor

    Only 4 of your 11 LoH comes from pally though. 4 pally gives 1 loh + 3 from T1 SD, 4 from aasimar, and 3 more plus the recharges from Unyielding Sentinel, but you don't have to be pally for those. You would go from 11 LoH to 7, recharging every 144 seconds.

    What else are you getting from levels 14 and 15 of Arty then if not spells? You aren't taking Battle Fist or Kinetic Charge in the RM tree, so nothing lost there.

    I am not criticizing your choices, just trying to weigh the options here.

    Regeneration Construct repairs 1 hit point per 3 artificer levels. By taking 15 instead of 12, he increases his auto-healing by 25%. One could argue that's not a significant increase, but that EK dip also makes the AP spread tougher. He'd have to give up a few from Stalwart, Aasimar or Renegade

    Is this build viable for Epic Play on a non Completionist?

    Playing with 5 Pal's from our old PnP Group. Will use my 3 live Char for it, PL are Monk and Rouge so not ideal.
    Only +3 Tomes used.

    Played WF Arty's solo and in group as ranged DD, Trapper and general Swiss Army Knife.

    The issue with this build is the fact that the artificer tank tree gets a 20% racial bonus to hit points instead of the usual 20% competence bonus which all other enhancement tank trees get. This is a good build, but the devs will get around to nerfing it eventually. EK pass is also coming so it wouldn't surprise me if the 10% AC gets moved up the tree or taken away altogether. I'm not holding my breath.

    The former cleric tank build got a nerf since they changed the paladin 20% bonus hit points from sacred to competence.

    The main problem you will have are AP this build needs 92AP. For sure is playable also w/o in low reaper but keep in mind that have 0 dps so you need to be on a group

    Yes true in U41 they will nerf for sure but depending on what they unbalance again we will have party caster full and no more tank around

    Nice, thanks for the full layout! Renegade Mastermaker has definitely taken over as the best tanking tree - I find it funny how many people I still see playing the 15/4/1 Fighter/Paladin/Wizard split, or even creating new characters with that split instead of with artificer. Not that there's anything wrong with it - it's just not as good as the alternatives.

    How did bear tanks come out in your build testing? Nature's Protector and Dire Bear form grant a ton of bonuses to tanking with only 8 druid levels, though it does come with some difficulties such as gearing.

    Depending on the importance of AC vs HP, a 5 Cleric animal domain or a 7 FVS Stout of Heart splash could prove worthwhile on some tank builds for the extra base HP which gets scaled by all your % HP bonuses.

    It definitely seems like the 15/4/1 artificer split gives everything you would want in a tank, with more % HP, more self-healing, more utility and comparable PRR/MRR/AC to other tank builds. I'd still be interested to hear what builds were the runners-up in your testing though.

    Unfortunately now I have to w8 for lama to see what change (nerf) will be made to EK... Working on a Bear too bust now is no sense need to know how it will be with EK. The main problem is u cannot combine arty benefit and pally benefit due to allignment restricion.

    Arti doesn't have an alignment restriction does it? Are you thinking Barb?

    Barb will be huge hp but ac will be really decreased, no arty no restriction
