We will not be doing our regular weekly restart tomorrow (Tuesday, March 12th). There is a possibility there may be a brief server restart later this week, depending on advice from our network operations people.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

    Cordo,
Starting to have load screen drops

I was in a full group doing epic dailys,
    Finished von3, von4 was next
Quest was shared, went to von4 entrance
Got loading screen drop going in
    Waited, waited, altf4

Gave it 3-4 min, restarted client
Got to char select screen, said I was in house kundarak
    Tried entering the world,
Didn't load me into the world
    Waited few minutes, altf4

Waited a few minutes, maybe 4
Restarted client, got to char select
    Did my backdoor,
    Transferred to Eveningstar
Got in world in es hoh
    Was still in group
    They were waiting for me
    But I felt spooked
I have had issues with loading screen drops before in kundarak,
    Like going into the tavern
Told them I'd meet at next quest, which was wiz king
So I scroll teleported to 12, took,
    Entered guild ship, took
And then guild ship port to sands

I ran about 4 quests with no problem
Wiz king, oob, spies and 2 toe
(I got lucky and pulled a jibbers, and had 4 ppl roll for it. The rogue rolled a 100, so he got it)
They were gonna do LOD next, but I wanted to do reaper with bb, so I called it for the night
This is after I recalled to 3bc, no problem
So in 3bc, I dropped group
    And went to guild ship
    Loading screen hang
So I altf4 and called it a night

    Edit
Ya, logged on this morning and I was on the ship
    I wondered that,
Since when I was in 3bc,
And tried porting to the ship
It didn't give me blu bar,
But the sounds I heard sounded like it was coming from the amenities bar,
You know that whirring clanking noise
So I waited a few minutes for the load screen to blue bar,
    But it didn't happen
It seems like the server dropped me
    I don't wait past a couple mins,
It seems you either have a good connection that is responsive,
    Or the server hangs

I have theories and workaround on this stuff,
From my experience just playing the game
But issue is, seems I'm getting drops

HEADS UP: We will be doing our weekly restart tomorrow, March 19th, around 9:00 AM Eastern. This downtime will include a small game update, which is necessary to help us prepare to distribute the Coupon Code items we will soon be providing you a code for as a way to say thanks for your patience during our recent downtime.

No. The tiny deployment has one change and that change is to facilitate delivering the downtime apology items.

I'm happy to be getting the items, but does anyone else find it funny that there's going to be a downtime to apologize for the downtime?

I am pretty certain that the pre-purchase does not require a game update to make available. It should be a web site update as it is a cash purchase.

We would have had a downtime regardless. This is our normal weekly restart timeslot. We're just also doing a tiny deployment this week.

Pre-Purchase will absolutely require a downtime and patch. All of the new features that you would be purchasing are not currently in live game data (some are deep down in entirely unfinished states but nowhere near being ready). There will absolutely be a deployment before opening the Sharn Pre-Purchase for sale (just like the Ravenloft Pre-Purchase period which opened after Update 36 Patch 3).

Makes sense. But you have less than two weeks so you better get back to it

Dont forget they have to test it to make sure its playable on live servers so prolly less then a week n a half. Especially if you account for error checking/bug fixes.

What is this "test" thing of which you speak?
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

Please get Lynnabel an extra slice of 13th Anniversary cake to tide her over in this bug and item fixing delay.
