    Default Champion Changes Feedback

Today's Lamannia brings a preview of a series of changes taking place to Champions in the game:

    • The Champion system has been updated. Champion crowns will now designate whether the Champion is Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3. Champion buffs now randomly pick between a set of template themes after the Outer and Inner Planes where they get their boost.
    • Champions still do not appear on Normal, and will only be Tier 1 on Hard. Elite will have Tiers 1 and 2, while Reaper difficulty will have up to Tier 3.
    • The global damage modifier for champions has been reduced to account for new abilities. This does not affect mini boss champions.

    Default mind block

    Mind Block
Possessed by: Fiendish Fire Bat, Fire Bat Detonator, Kudgel, Stone Guardian

Mind Block: Some powerful influence has a hold on this creature's mind. As a result, this creature has immunity to most mind-affecting spells and abilities
was curious, and posted here for others ( http://ddowiki.com/page/Mind_Block )
Without new players DDO will go the way of the dodo.

that looks good. So, if I read it correctly, cc won't be the king of reaper(but will remain useful), and that's good.

This makes me much more comfortable with the way champs work. Theme is a great idea and should always have been how it worked. Quantity of individual buffs based on difficulty is also a great idea.

Be interested to see what the ingame inspect text says - will we still see individual buffs, or a summary icon?

Also, your table has 2 x Tier 1 columns.

Are vulnerabilities still completely random and unlinked to difficulty or theme?

Yeah, that confused me at first too. They get more than one buff at Tier 1.

Oh, and to explain: We're not telling you what the Tier 3 buffs are.

    Question

I take it the column headings for the Tiers are mislabeled?

    Nevermind, just super confusing then.
"The sword itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with swords."

I notice you guys seem to be keen on screwing players that depend on all or nothing defenses (Displacement and Dodge), but are too scared to include a PRR bypass for fairness.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • NEW - Setting Unarmed Strike back to what it was and attacking the real problem: Reinforced Fists items.
    • Fix the flipping non-proficiency penalties for Bear and Wolf wildshapes!
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.
    • Keep Lynnabel on task with updating the remaining legacy named loot to not suck.
    • Tiering the Runearms so that artificers aren’t screwed out of the advantages of Cannith Crafting in Epic levels on their signature item.
    • Finishing the enhancement tree passes (including racial PrE’s) before rolling out yet another DDOStore™ Enhancement Tree.

Vulnerabilities are tied to the theme as well. Not in the original table (likely because the internal one lists Vulnerabilities after tier 3 buffs which we didn't want to reveal to players outright). Listing them here now and will see about getting Cordovan to add them to the OP at some point.

    Vulnerabilities:

    Light Bearer - Negative
    Arboreian - None
    Hero's Soul - None
    Fey Touched - None
    Elemental Fury - None
    Skyborn - Acid
    Stoneguard - Electric
    Flame Born - Cold
    Soul of Ice - Fire
    Mark of Chaos - Lawful
    Pandemonium - Lawful
    Archeron - None
    Mark of Law - Chaos
    Beast Mark - None
    Shadow Marked - Light
    Demon Soul - Good
    Infernal Pact - Good
    Souless - None
    Styxian - None
    Cruel Soul - None

How are we supposed to help debug things and report if you won't post the info we need to check? how many times does this cycle have to run until you guys stop making this mistake?

    This disables invis runs.
    Does this affect sneaking toons?

Considering they think LGS was a success, then probably never. Not like anything happens when they make mistakes anyway. It's us, the players that get punished for their lack of vision. They never learned from the Vast & Mysterious garbage that used to go on.

Seconded. First thing I noticed, bunch of TS but no PRR bypass.

Default Champ Types Vulnerable to Sonic, Poison, and Force Would Be Nice

It would be nice if there was at least one type vulnerable to sonic, one type vulnerable to poison, and perhaps one type vulnerable to force, so that those damage types aren't unintentionally unbalanced compared to the more common damage types. Poison damage, especially, doesn't have as much going for it as the more common damage types since many mobs are immune.

    Agreed.

    Also question:

    Example:

Im on LE. I see a champion of the Plane of Light Bearer.

Light Bearer Mount Celestia - Heavenly & lawful true sight Unyielding Sovereignty at half health death block

    Will he have:

    1) TS, Unyleding Sovereignity, Deathblock all together
    2) Only the last tier of buff, only Deathblock in this case
    3) Random choice between the 3
    4) Other

    ?

Sorry if its a dumb question, just trying to understand better.

True Seeing has never affected stealthing characters. Personally, I'm happy to see invis-cheesing whittled away at in any way possible. Stealth relies upon investment in skills, gear, ability score/enhancements/whatever else. Invis-cheesing just requires a scroll.

6/20 Deathblock, 4/20 Mind block. I think this really should be more like 7 and 3 or even 8 and 2. Im happy with reducing the impact of insta-kills on Champs, but really the CC should work most of the time.

Otherwise we just roll Locks or Ranged.

Something affects it, because my Rogue gets spotted all the time despite having max Hide/MS, items for each, and a pretty high Dex. Im all for Champs seeing invisible, but stealth really should always be an option.
