    Default Cupid, Archer Angel

Hi all, and thanks for all the help. I have sorted out the last of my collection and finally came to the very last one (other then my TR Main, but that one is always changing). I have enough spare toons to sacrifice at the alter of Druids if any new class prestiges or new classes (like Psionics) comes out, but until then I am gonna work a bit on my multi builds and figure out which ones are keepers and which ones are reserved for any game updates :P

    Updated:

    Cupid, Arch/er Angel Build

    Lialithe
Half-elf (Warlock for extra dps on spells, and access to AA line, the spell penetration doesnt hurt either)
Druid 18 (Picking up all Seasoned Herald's goodies up to level 18)
Ranger 2 (this way you don't invest 2 feats for rapid shot, and it is worth having for this build, the twf won't hurt either)

Decided to surrender capstone for rapid shot and twf line. I lose 2 9th level spells and 1 8th level spell. I lose 3 dc on transmutation and conjuration spells, 1 dc on enchantment, and +2 caster levels. I gain a slight increase on how fast I shoot paralyzing arrows that suffer only -1 dc from loss of capstone. The arrows play a vital role. The 2wf open's swf + 2wf, though I won't use wolf form much, it comes in handy for picking up dps at times, so +20% procs won't hurt and it is possible to squeeze in SWF or shield mastery... optional. Overall it is worth it instead of putting 2 feats to get rapid shot... this way you give no feats.

(I decided not to use the character builder, this is easier and faster and to the point)

    Enhancements: 1
Half-Elf (14 for Arcane Archer, +2 spell penetration, bonus to hit, and +1 wisdom)
Arcane Archer (minimum of 22, 26 for paralyzing arrows, banishing arrows, and smiting arrows (+3 dcs to paralyze))
Seasoned Herald 40 (Seasoned Herald, all caps except winter's heart and core tier 5 Storm of Vengeance)

    Feats:
    1 Maximize
    3 Empower
    6 Quicken
    9 Enlarge
    12 Heighten
    15 SWF
    18 ISWF
    -Rapid Shot and 2WF

    21 - Overwhelming Crits
    24 - Heavy Armor
    26 - Guardian Angel
    27 - Intensify
    28 - Forced Escape
    29 - Dire Charge
    30 - PSWF

    Main Destiny: Exhalted Angel
Back up Destiny: Sentinel (switching specially when a lot of knock downs will be compressed and hard to avoid)

Picking up just the metamagics, and preparing for melee late in the development. It can rotate from elemental paralyzing and hitting targets with cheap SLA's made cheaper with Soul Magic to mixing a decent (not optimal, but still very good) dps in wolf semi-togg form pumping powerful metamagics into its brutal fangs, or bear form to dance at the bar!

In a way Cupid ends up being a cross between Togg and Gingerspyce's build, which also doesn't go heavy in all out magic investments, but still gets a lot from what is put in. His build is more defensive with shield mastery, and gets those final DCs from capstone, but still, feat wise, a lot invested successfully into defense. Togg goes offensive. This one mostly focuses on paralyzing trash and SLAing it and having options for the boss. It won't reach Togg's mighty bite, but don't Angel's get shapeshifting powers anyways from PnP days? So, it gets that power sorta! And between a semi Togg (that still gets greats wolf SWF line with 1 t2f amp) and creeping cold, lighting, balance... which might not cool down as fast but still fire off without messing animations up hardly at all.. DPS should be fine.

    Gonna give this a try!

Group Strategy: Massive assistance with excellent heals and paralyzed monsters. Picks up dps with metamagics, conserves wonderfully with Arcane Archer (most of them are very cheap anyways). This saves mana for healing and buffing. Choose buff spells and amp party and keep them from getting hit. The ranged fighting goes very well with SLAs and enlarged, lots of fun hitting a paralyzed monster with creeping cold and produce flame (much easier to hit with on frozen targets).

Solo Strategy: Pick away from a distance as much as possible. Aim for high DCs to make sure trash can't come close ever. Freeze em, then freeze em again, lightning from above, flame, maybe balance if so wanted. Can make use of Druid Forms, and acquire other destinies, having sentinel as a back up destiny when there is too much knock downs all at once. Otherwise near optimal Druid DCs with Exhalted Angel, along with endless arrows of frustrating paralysis.

Finally downloaded the character planner. Worked it all out, but it needs 3 tomes to pull off. Tried to save... found out character planner freezes when you do that and had to shut it off with task manager. I should have saved it to the clip board. Ill try again tomorrow, this planner is a nice program! Overall, it would be impossible to do without tomes, even with 36 points, and this one begins with 34.

Please... warn me if investing in this build with $ for tomes would turn into a bitter end... or will light spams, decent CC, and paralyzing arrows prove to be a great combination for... paralyze... spam spam spam... fly.. paralyze.. paralyze.. paralyze... spam sunbolt, spam sound burst, symbol of persuasion, paralyze... etc etc...

    Think.. Enchantments and Arrows... Cupid.

Maybe when I go over it again tomorrow it will be easier to see??

The above post is an example of an outdated idea based on a winged toon that somehow uses arrows with a purpose.

viability? low. Theme is funny. You need to be nekkid so consider monk levels--17 favored soul gets you wings--Shiradi is all about the Fey so that is your destiny even if weak--at least is about arrows.
So elven 17 fvs/3 monk, spend AP in elf tree to AA, also henshin for lighting the candle (as a symbol of love).

You could do the yeela build using magic missiles--you can look it up here on the forums
Wiki dashboard with some useful stealthplay links
Proud Knight of the Silver Legion, Cannith: Saekee (main; epic completionist), Naerfelka (farmer), Saelegion (parked at level 4!)

My first impression is you're trying to do too many things with one build. DiDi light SLAs don't scale well into epics and they're even worse when heavily MCed; they'd mostly be for helping to charge up Scourge. Which might be okay if you were a dedicated light spammer, but you're not. You load up on Spell Pen feats, but I don't know why. Your ranged DPS suffers without the higher-level core enhancements, which you can't afford with this spread.

That's before we even get into the nightmare which is gearing a toon which does ranged DPS and light DPS and healing and Enchantment DCs and...

Pick 2 or 3 (hopefully related) things you want to be good at, figure out how to build for it. Don't just throw a bunch of different ideas into one build and hope for the best.

    Updated.

Gonna go with Ranger 2 / Druid 18

Apparently the best build I can think of for this idea of a Winged toon using arrows with a purpose (sorta like cupid I guess) is a hybrid of Gingerspyce's Gnome Druid and Togg's Chomper King. This one invests about the same amount into magic as Gingerspyce's and then a tad in defense and a semi-togg version with miner toggish amps. It still gets great DPS with metamagic creeping cold, produce flame, etc etc landing in heavier numbers easily cast while chewing things up (barely messes with wolf fighting.. just a bit slower). In elemental form arrows paralyze assisted with spells that all enjoy high wisdom. The arrows dont kill, they are defensive and offensive at the same time, making opponents into easier targets for produce flame, or standing around freezing to death. The test toon I made was loads of fun. It is odd this Hybrid appears to capture it all, gonna find out.

Oh, and half elf.. because all those metamagics will gain up to 500 dps on single targets per a second on average as they go off every other. Sometimes the fire damage crits and does more then the spell itself... scales and keeps up with casting. Kinda like a feat on its own. That.. and I need access to AA line... +1 DC to enchantment or +500 dps per a second... hmmm... DPS because it adds enough to justify losing 1 dc.

    Updated at top..

    Druid 18
    Ranger 2
    Etc etc

It has wings, runs on wisdom, and hits with metamagic SLAs coupled with semi-togg chomp chomp!

    For comparison: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ake-(druid-AA)

The idea was a CC specialist: Earthquake+Paralyzing Arrows+Nerve Venom procs. In hindsight I think I would give up caster DPS entirely: just shoot things, toss out Earthquakes and occasional HoTs.

Switching to EA for wings + higher DCs is okay, I guess, but I'd miss the Shiradi procs. [At least in theory.]

I still don't know why you're investing in Spell Pen; it doesn't affect Paralyzing Arrows at all. And your ranged DPS will still be abysmal without Manyshot. More importantly, not having IPS means you can't paralyze mobs en masse; given this build's core concept, that seems like a pretty big omission to me. Also you can't take Overwhelming Crit without Improved Crit; and I don't know why you're taking SWF feats. If you want a melee druid build, make a melee druid build; don't do some melee / ranged / caster combo.

Keep in mind that the goal is to have wings and make arrows useful somehow. If I go Shiradi the only way to keep wings is FVS heroic build with 17 levels. That is a totally different build. I built one for testing purposes, and hated it. Crappy synergy, and the spell casting even with quicken often got in the way of shooting arrows. I got to thinking... most of the FVS spells don't hit several times like Chain Missile, and FVS is just not doing it for AA mix.

A lot of experienced players keep saying Druid Angel is where it is at if you are a caster. I also figured this build could be a caster because in order to do so, it would need to invest in wisdom. This helps the arrows paralyze things. Now you bring up a great point, no IPS means I won't be stunning mobs as fast... I am gonna think about this a bit more, see if there is a way to get it, I need only 3 feats right? DPS won't ever be good, but paralyzing mobs asap... priceless. Hmmm... come to think of it, without Dreadnaught destiny the wolf melee won't even be semi toggish, it wont work enough to perform. I could replace SWF to pick up improved precise shot. It would probably be best to use a +3 or +5 tomb so I don't need to squander stats and can focus on wisdom and constitution still.

I like your build, only problem is it has no wings. I already got plenty of Shiradi stuff, AA, DWS, Warlocks, and Chain Spammers.. though I will miss my Archer Chain Spammer Ghost build, I will survive. So when considering that wings are a must, it comes down to FVS-Shiradi or Druid-Exhalted Angel. No one is saying FVS Shiradi is all that, it will never compare to a chain spammer, though it can make a great archer, and it could use spells strictly for healing, buffing, and leaving enchanted symbols of stunning and persuasion everywhere... an occasional implosion in those jams. I think it is possible, but the animations sorta block out spell casting for any DPS.
