    Default LGS Opposition HP bonus not applying

    Is there something wrong with the opposition bonus on LGS items?

    (Combat): The thrill of Opposition keeps you going.

    +14.00 Legendary bonus to % Maximum Hit Points

    Yet my HP doesn't increase.


    I know this system is a year old already, but I couldn't find anything on the known issues list about this. Is this known or am I doing something wrong?

    Count the number of Opposition, Escalation, and Dominion effects used on your slotted augments (items of course, not weapons). If the number of Dominions are equal to any other type, they will cancel each other out. You'll see that "(Combat): The thrill of Opposition keeps you going." message appear immediately followed by one that it was removed if that's the case. You might have to slot a Dominion type augment on one of your items so it becomes the majority.

    I have 4 opposition and 2 escalation

    Edit:

    1 negative opposition
    2 positive escalation

    3 positive opposition

    That should work - opposition is the majority. I don't know if you want to spend 150 TP on an extractor, but if you can remove one of the Positive-Escalation shards and see if that has any effect maybe that will show that there's a bug and that things aren't being calculated correctly.

    Okay, I've done a bit more testing...

    My 3x Positive Opposition item with a blank 2nd LGS DOES provide me with a +12% HP buff. However, when I equip the Negative Opposition, 2x Positive Escalation item, the effect is totally lost. By my understanding, equipping the second item should increase my opposition count to 4 and increase my buff to 14%. Instead, I totally lose the buff.

    Bug report thus.

    Longstanding bug.

    SP bonuses can be mix and match.
    HP bonuses must be pure HP type or you get 0%.
    Unsure about dodge bonuses.

    OK, that explains it. My set is Dominion for SP which explains why I've seen the bonus with 4 Dominion + 2 other but the OP didn't with 4 Opposition + 2 other.

    This is a complex concept to understand, so I clariy myself to help others:


    Each Legendary Greensteel shard that you make has 3 parts to it:

    Focus = this is pos, neg, air, fire, elect, ice = has nothing to do with set bonuses at all

    Essence = this is either Material or Etherial = determines the 4 item set bonuses

    Gem = this is either Dom (sp), Mat (hp), Esculation (dodge)

    If you happen to have 5 items there is a chart that determines what extra effect happen

    So, when making a leg greensteel item, if you want an hp bonus, ALL your gem parts of the shard must be Material.

    If you want a leg greensteel item with sp bonuses, you only need the clear majority of the gem parts to be Dominion.

    I have no idea about Esculation.



    If you are actually making 4 or more items then you need to worry about whether you essences should be Mat or Etheral.

    I think you just need to the clear majority to be Mat if you are seeking Mat, best I remember.

    Have no idea about Etheral.

    Ironically, you cannot choose the "+22 Strength Skills (Competence), +28 Hit Points (Profane) " group

    and

    gain the "+18% HP legendary bonus"

    at the same time.

    Which might be balanced but is confusing.


    To get the HP bonuses you have to chase these types:

    +128 Unconsciousness Range, 16 healing every 10 seconds (Enhancement)

    +4 Fortitude Save Vs Disease (Insight), Blindness Immunity

    +50 Electric Resistance (Enhancement)

    +50 Fire Resistance (Enhancement)

    +50 Cold Resistance (Enhancement)

    +50 Acid Resistance (Enhancement)

    {exclusively if you want the 4 item critical bonus}

    or these types:

    +13 Will Save (Resistance)

    +13 Reflex Save (Resistance)

    +13 Fortitude Save (Resistance)

    {notice there is not more than 3 of these, so its not a good path for a 4 item bonus group}



    If you don't care about 4 item bonus sets then you could mix and matches those two groups.

    Actually there was a post that claimed if you keep the tier 3 empty on the second item, you'd get the 12% bonus on hp. For example,
    *PS I'm pretty sure when you say hp bonus you mean opposition and not material right?

    Item 1 3x Opposition
    Item 2 2x Dominion works for 12% hp while

    Item 1 3x Opposition
    Item 2 2x Dominion 1x Opposition gives 0 set bonus whatsoever instead of the 14% hp it claims to give

    Exclaimer: I have in no way shape or form wasted mats to test this.

    I have tested this with two LGS items and can confirm the Opposition "Bug"

    If you have even one Escalation in the two items you will not get the Opposition HP bonus.

    I tested:
    O/O/O : E/Empty/Empty - No Bonus
    O/O/O : E/O/Empty - No Bonus
    O/O/O : O/O/E - No Bonus
    (Yes - you can have 5 opposition and only one escalation and not get the HP bonus)

    O/O/O : O/Empty/Empty - Bonus
    O/O/O : O/O/Empty - Bonus

    I only have 1 Tier 3 Opposition so could not test O/O/O : E/O/O or O/O/O : O/E/O
    I only have 1 Cleansed item so could not test how 3 items interact.

    If this is WAI or a bug is something only the devs can comment on but the HP bonus is inconsistent compared to the other 2.

    I will say that it was very disappointing to grind out the Tier 3 Opposition and then not get the bonus.

    I use only material opposition and everything works fine. When LGS was new I would lose my bonus if I tried equipping even one other tier.

    This would be why. Opposition is bugged and must exclusively be opposition to recieve the % hp. No escalation or dominion allowed if you want the hp

    Was this/will this ever be fixed? Pretty substantial bug for anyone looking into LGS.
    There are only two types of people that I hate. (1), necrotic wizards, and (2), everyone else.
