Default Bard rebuild ideas 2nd life

I have trying to rebuild all my tons so everyone probably tired of all my post but I have to get these done somehow. Anyway I have this 11th level warforged bard I am messing with this is his 2nd life and he has a +2 tome set on him.
I am looking for a buff melee great weapon build so I tried a few splashes to see what I could do. I got this looking so so but still short on feats anyway here what I got and I could use a few ideas I am not sure if I should drop the fighter class go more FS or go more fighter or splash rog instead to get evasion
I am thinking now maybe go away from bard altogether and go blade forged

With the addition of SWF and, more importantly, Swashbuckler, two-handed weapons and bards really don't go well together.

How set are you on going THF?
Once I get my moods under control, I might actually get a character past level 7... ooh, shiny!

Unfortunately, the problem is that both Warchanter and Swashbuckler have their DC's rely on Charisma, except for Coup de Grace which uses Perform (which is influenced by Charisma)

And unfortunately, unless you're somehow a PDK, you can't get your DPS to rely on Charisma with a THF weapon.

So, with that said, you're... kinda stuck, I think.

This does have a THF version sorta (just remove shield mastery feats and replace SWF with THF), but as you're not a PDK, you're probably not going to be able to manage a DC-intensive focus.

Maybe I should make him a blade forged past life sorc +5 commander green steel falchion with acid burst, holy aspect of mineral . I think need to be finished last tier the last tier was not done for some reason but it look like I have everything to finish it depending on how I finish it. I don't remember since it was 3 years ago

He also has supreme tyrant green steel cloak concord of opposition, that has all kinds of charisma bases stats and greater element based spell power exceptional +2 str +6 wis +6 exceptional chr skills

This account does already have I have blade forged. He was a bard but needs to rebuilt he has a +2 tome set on him already and with the new update that is supposed to make this blade forges and pallys in general really good so I would really like to make one now I seen that info on the update.

I mean since this build is kinda whacked but it used to play great but it was only till 11 level I think I ask in the iconic section

I mean how so, the warchanter that was great before is no more, I don't think that changed that much!! I don't see why just because the released a new enhancement Line that all of a sudden the THF warchanter is poof up in smoke. I have a drow bard warchanter was my 2nd main toon and there was never a problem getting him in raids or epics he was always welcome..

So now your saying that my all my THF warchanters are no good no more that bites !!

U would never get me to use that toothpick line not on bet if that what everyone wants from a bard I am not making anymore bards I even hated the spell singer. I would never make anything but a warchanter.

That really bumming me out to think one of my favorite play styles is not considered good anymore

That was a bit of a delayed reaction.

Look, if you want to go THF Warchanter that badly, then you don't really need my say-so. Also I'm far from a Bard expert so take everything I say with a grain of salt, okay?

Just saying there's no real advantage to going THF, since SWF and Bard (due to Swashbuckler) have such a high synergy.

But if you want to do it, do it. Warchanter Bards are better now, they have their own Cleave/Whirlwind Strike ability, they don't have to go through a crappy line of enhancements to get the ability to add cold damage to their attacks (And now they just flat-out get it, no strings attached - though they only get it once per second) and they get auras (called "chants") that passively buff party members just by bearing near them.

I don't know what "everyone expects" but as long as you're buffing your allies and dealing decent DPS, I don't think anyone will complain.

If I had to say anything, I would suggest losing the Favored Soul level, if you could. An 18 Bard / 2 Fighter is a strong melee bard Maybe not the strongest, but still, pretty strong.

Drop PL:Arcane Prodigy for GTHF. Cleaves ASAP.
    Otherwise, the build looks ok.

Enhancements: Probably invest less in Warforged, more in bard. Pick up Haste boost from Kensai. Fast movement from Swashbuckler. Perhaps Lingering Song and/or Magical Studies from Spellsinger.

Spells: I'd backload/drop offensive spells like Soundburst or Sleep, and instead pick up utility stuff.

You can't change race when LRing, which includes changing a WF into a BF. So to change to BF, you'd still have to level to 20 and HTR again, which means coming up with a rebuild which can get you to 20.

The doom-n-gloom about THF/TWF bards is excessive, IMHO. Yeah, SWF Swashbucklers have taken the limelight, but THF is still fine. WC DCs are based on CHA, but that's only one small part of the tree; the rest is better than it was before, particularly for a party support toon.

    Bard 16 / ftr 2 / FvS 2
Stats: STR, CHA, CON are primary stats
Heroic feats: Power Atk, CL, GC, IC:Slash, THF x3, 2 metamagics (e.g., Extend & Quicken) or maybe Stunning Blow & Mithril Body (for a bit of AC & PRR)
Epic feats: Inspire Excellence, Overwhelming Crit
ED feats: Lasting Inspiration and PTHF or PTWF

Enhancements: 10 APs into Warpriest for Smite Foe / Weakness, Div Might, Wall of Steel (Righteous weapons if using SOS); 4 APs into Kensei for Haste Boost; 16 APs into WF tree for heal amp, Imp PA, and Weapon Attachment; 35 APs into WC for Chant of Power and Howl of the North; 11 APs into SB for Dodge bonuses (inc. Uncanny Dodge), Fast Movement, and Deflect Arrows (if it's working); 4 APs into SS for Lingering Songs.

Buff up, move fast, hit hard, have fun.

You would do more dps as a swashbuckler with lootgen than a warchanter with gs twink gear.

Well some of the spells I took was just because there was really nothing that great to take but from my past experience the sound burst is great crowd control and on of the few bard spells the works off perform not wisdom and with a cacophony can be a very potent crowd control.

sleep is quest specific there is a quest coming up where u need to keep guys sleeping once that is done I will swap it out

Like a said some level of bard spells are pretty lame so some spells u just get stuck with due to there nothing else that great.

sorry I am bit over loaded with rebuild as I have like 25 to rebuild after 3 years out of the game. When it comes to this toon I could be flexible but it dawned on me my one of my main and favorite toons is a drow warchanter and it hit my like a ton of bricks that his build would be obsoleted

the one level of soul picks up 3 feats Lord of blades but i did notice that since I have only 1 level it was not very effective as I hoped it would be as it reall on grant me great swords and with the enhancement line +1 so ya its not really adding as much as I hoped. I think that was changed that the enhancement line for religion where level based. I am not sure how it will effect my skills but i will take a look.

I was thinking to actually take a 2nd level of soul as the 6 level bard spell look unimpressive at least the last tier all that was there was heroes feast and I could easily scroll that just was well

I wil look at the build again and test it as a 18/2 and compare it with 16/2/2 and see if there is any draw backs or gains

Well maybe but it not really being all dps when it comes to a bard. its about buffing your party with songs and doing respectable dps there are many other classes to go into if pure dps in your goal a bard is more about what he bring to the table for the party.

I dont care for the new line of enhancements, many do but I am just not into that play style. I don't think I would ever use that line its a roleplaying thing. I am a old Pen and paper guy so some roles are just not for me. I never build a toon that its just all about crunching numbers and would never us a enhancement line just solely for that purpose if it dont add to the characters role I have in my mind

I never had a spell singer either for me the bard always has a bit of a feminine trait about it and I rather butch him up as a warchanter with a big old 2 handed weapon then get him swinging a toothpick.

Like I said I am not blind I see that the enhancement line has really great stuff. but sometimes I think that when new enhancement come out folks get pulled in because its new and toss aside what has been tried and true. My drow warchanter has been a welcome guest in any quest elite or epic. I now the spell casters rather have the spellsinger but u cant make everyone happy but the hack and slash guy love ya

The reason this guy was warforged was to take advantage or inspired recklessness as it very easy to have surplus fortification.

Uncanny Dodge), Fast Movement, and Deflect Arrows (if it's working); 4 APs into SS for Lingering Songs.

Buff up, move fast, hit hard, have fun.

Now your talking my language I like the sound of this sounds like you are actually playing this build here the only thing that's missing is the when on the levels to take each class I knew I was close just missing by a little bit. If you could add to your post the level information for the class changes that would do it that sound just right for me

This is sort of what u said but I think it needs to take class changes in other spots I know if take your class changes at the right levels u gain more feats also it needs some prioritising for feats as well. it going in the right direction but it still not right. I am not sure if bard get arcane spell failure so I am not sure about the adamantine body. this still need work

Here is what i have so far

I was having fun playing as he is so I am sure I will have fun again, I am going to cleans his green steel clock and make him something for his next life as a blade forged

I mean really picture in your head a war forged bard swinging a rapiar now think about a great weapon. I mean a warforged is like 9 foot tall how silly would that look!

That was the other reason I went War forged too more or a macho image

I never really thought of green steel as twink gear. twink gear is mostly overpowered low level gear. I am not sure greel steel is twink gear, at least u are the first to ever call green steel twink gear but I know a lot has changed maybe it nowadays
Their is no such thing as buffing a party anymore lol. Goals are dps, survivability, and control. And pretty much u can get all 3 of those on anything, expecially once that new update comes out heh.

So I say build whatever. Also nice to note that for a 2 handed bard that I used quite a bit of points in war as they were all well spent, and of course kensei. But I also used some in swash because theirs alot of nice things in there for dmg even without using the stance. I actually took all the points out of my horc tree because I needed em elsewhere.

Still not sure if its the right settup but ive got alota doublestrike, tactic dc, and each swing base is about 130. And that's in that goofy monk ed.

So when chooseing a race id look for something that gives bonus's outright instead of enhancment wise. Human would probably be the best way to go with the feat. Plus the extra dmg with speed boost.

If the future holds constant, id say feats should be alot more lax in need.

well when i build this toon it was like 4 years ago and 90% running with my guild we were big on team work also this was made for fun to see how it would work out as I am altaholic. at the time this was a great build doing enough dps and great addition to a party with very high survivability.

I need to get this guy to 20 and tr him. I sorry but I don't see as a bard that buffing the part is obsolete since that was the primary job for bards not dps that was always 2nd way make a bard for dps that seem a bit senseless when there are so many classes that can way out dps any bard Build

Any way I will see that for myself but as said this guy has to get to 20 and I am sure he will as soon as I can work out the right levels to take each class

I'm presuming you listed the tomes you've already taken and the class order you took to get to lvl 10 or 11. So here's one option:

I planned it to lvl 28, even though you said you intend to HTR ASAP.

Since the builder hasn't been updated with the bard PrE changes yet, we'll have to list those Enhancements by hand:
    • Warchanter (35 APs): First four core enhs (4 APs), Poetic Edda (3 APs), Arcane Shield (3 APs), Ironskin Chant (3 APs), Reckless Chant (3 APs), Chant of Power (3 APs), Howl of the North (2 APs); 14 APs worth of filler (e.g., 9 APs for +45 Pos Spellpower & other bonuses, 3 APs for Rough & Ready, 2 APs for Enchant Weapon).
    • Swashbuckler (11 APs): First three core enhs (3 APs), On Your Toes (3 APs), Blow by Blow (3 APs), Fast Movement (2 APs)
    • Spellsinger (4 APs): First core (1 AP), Sustaining Song (3 APs)

I planned it to lvl 28, even though you said you intend to HTR ASAP.

    • Spellsinger (4 APs): First core (1 AP), Sustaining Song (3 APs)

I believe all my tomes were taken at level 7 and I am adding the 11 level tomes and I find them for a deal any additional tomes will be added as I can and if I think its worth it. I have it planned out to 28 as well. I alway like to put tomes on my toons I will se how it goes.

I just did a feat swap yesterday and have not rebuild the toon as of yet as I am working on many builds at one time, I have a lot to fix
Super thanks for your reply this is a great help
