Based on a post by Servlin, it looks like Overwhelming critical is being opened up to more builds, with the removal of the feat and stat requirements.
The level 21 & 24 Epic feats:
- Combat Archery - 21 Dexterity, Point blank shot
- Inspire Excellence - 20 Perform, Inspire Heroics
- Improved Martial Arts - Monk 12+
- Vorpal Strikes - 21 Wisdom, Improved critical bludgeoning, 12 Monk levels
- Improved Sneak attack - 21 Dexterity, 12 Rogue levels
How about addressing all of these feats and opening them up to more builds?
Thanks to epic destinies every single one of these epic feats could be useful to a character that does not meet the class or stat requirements. There's been a serious lack of new epic feats added since Motu, and if Overwhelming critical is having it's opportunity cost significantly reduced, the the other epic feats, should too.
I've seen recently on the forums a bard who's going to play in gmof unarmed. Why should they be excluded from epic feats based on their Heroic Build. They get granted the good attack animation via gmof, why not let them have access to vorpal fists and improved martial arts too?
Likewise what's wrong with letting someone who wants to base their build on Fatesinger have access to Inspire Excellence? I've got a rogue who carries every scroll under the sun for party buffs who I enjoy running in fatesinger for some flavor. Letting him use up a song (granted by fatesinger) on inspire excellence hardly seems game breaking. But it's impossible so long as 20 ranks in perform / 15 bard levels are required.
It's also obvious that alot of people would flock towards Improved Sneak attack if the 12 rogue requirement is removed, they'll still be losing an epic feat slot for it though. So what, more valid feat choices is good.
