I hope this time they include loots that is useful for those who fight Liches, not just ones who are spiring to become one. It makes sense that previous adventurers had some good leftovers :d
Go reread dialogue from various parts of the necropolis - quest givers, turn-ins, etc. if it has been a while. Vol and the Abbott go back a ways - it's already in DDO - they just need to keep it consistent.
I'm actually interested in this. The most recent dragon raids... meh.

Meh. I'm not going to raid anyway. Just hope they make it like TH where you can get 80%+ of the loot without raiding (either like Heroic Orchard, where you can grind Explorer encounters, or TH, where mats are unbound) and the raid-locked stuff is just the "cherry on top".
In terms of story, I hope they don't just turn Vol into a Lolth clone or a Vale redux, trying to open a portal and unleash Dolurrh or something. Up to now in DDO, she's been Death more as a "necessary part of life", not as a "destroyer of all things". Wonder if she's just mad that you've gone around systematically taking out all her best Liches and Dracoliches
I'm not personally opposed to Skeletons and Zombies. I'm not so much of an e-peener that I feel hunting any undead is "below" my char just because he's L28, or that everything has to be "Epic" (capital E) for epic characters. New monsters are fun, but old ones are still fun and iconic too. The monsters dont seem to mind that they're still fighting Humans and Warforged just like they were in Korthos
I do hope they don't go crazy with the Doomspheres though Or Wraiths/Shadows/Phase Spiders that love to hit you once then phase away for 10 seconds at a time. Or make all the mobs immune to everything except DPS, so the only way to play is just max your deeps.

Plus an additionally reason for Ghasts would be that they would be a nice substitute for the Arcane Skeletons that cast hold in the Doomsphere quest. Image a Doomsphere dispelling Deathward with Ghasts...Level draining causalities everywhere, since we have multiple gear with FoM on it that make Arcane Skeletons less deadly.
But Ghasts are low level virtually mindless undead just like Ghouls, Zombies and Skeletons - There's just no excuse for these being In Epic Quests!
Wights are the weakest Undead we should be facing in E-Orchard and considering DDO has basically made Wights into an Undead NPC race they have a reason to be Epic too!
Arcane Skeletons = Intelligent Undead - I'm not against these being in Epic Orchard just like I'm not against the PnP Skeleton Warrior being there.
However I am against the Devs just re-using basic Skeletons and Zombies with a different name or Giantifying them!
Lady Vol has also long been trying to become a god of the undead, which the Abbot was also attempting to do.
It has some really cool story potential for sure.
