Pretty much what my reply was going to be.

Neuters casting for enemies. Stops Wisps dead, pun intended.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

When ED's first came out, I tried Nullmagic Aura on my palemaster. When I found it removed my buffs and prevented me from healing myself, I dropped it and never touched it again. Actually, I dropped the entire tree and moved to Draconic, with only spell school specialist twisted. Recently however, I picked Magister back up when I started turning my PM into a more DC-based caster. The tree seems quite nice for this role, and I especially like Nullmagic Strike and Guard for dispelling bothersome Death Wards that inhibit instakills/neg lvls. It is also incredibly useful for rendering enemy casters useless. That said, I still avoid the epic moment. I don't know if it still removes personal buffs and prevents you from self-healing as a PM still, but honestly, even if that was fixed it still wouldn't really help me out that much. I would really like to see Magister get an improvement to its epic moment to make it more on par with some of the epic moments available in other trees, but sadly, any caster ability needing love is overshadowed by the many other caster abilities that don't need love. So yea, probably won't happen anytime soon.

If the Magister's epic moment can protect the party against the abbot's Inferno, I'd say it's worth it. However, I don't know if it can, so....

If developers can change the null magic aura effect to mirror Spell reflection spell then it would be a useful ability. As it stands it is pretty much useless.

he will use inferno a few times until a magister can prep one use of that lousy unepic moment

I've tried to use it briefly just after the destinies came out, was running citw with intention of blocking red named priestesses with this nullmagic aura, unfortunately gaining enough charge via spammimg force spells was taking al ong time and in a full party trash was dying faster than a misle could reach it sometimes. Once I finally prepped it and used in that area with several priestesses the duration was laughable, and all the priestesses spreading with their super high movement while I'm frantically trying to catch up with the pink bubble around me even more so.

they should really remove the charging mechanics of those epic moments, now that the one non-moment doesn't require charging anymore, just have an appropriate cooldown (and even then magister smells)
