One of the all time greats of the blues guitar has died.
Johnny Winter played the blues but with more force than the old school blues musicians. Johnny held off releasing Second Winter so that his brother Edgar could release his debut album Entrance without any competition from Johnny. Second Winter was the first three sided album. It had extra wide grooves cut for greater fidelity thus taking up more room on the LP so they wound up with three sides of music and Johnny didn't have enough good material to fill a fourth side so he left it blank rather than release music that he wasn't happy with.
Rest easy, Johnny.
