I wouldn't join if they'd pay me.
Remove bellybutton beat up phase, and half down spelltrap spawning, and it would be a decent quest.
I doubt anyone tells anyone not to run CitW but it's a raid, hard to solo so it's likely you need other people.
Anyways people posted that their LFM filled fairly fast, so i guess if you want to run it put one up yourself and don't wait for someone else to do it.
When I'm doing a TR, I do every quest up the adventurer's compendium on elite once and move to the next. I'm not grinding, I don't skip things, that is a falsehood. You are the person telling us who we are and what we think without knowing us or finding out, this isn't a 'socialist state'. Because a person thinks a raid is boring, and for the record I thought it was boring the first time I did it, and every other time, I gave it every chance to be fun, are not past playing for fun, they have different taste for you, and just as I accept you like this raid, you also have to accept that a lot of us don't like it on it's merits, not on it's loot, drop rates, or our play histories.
If CITW gave twice the xp that von5 did, I still wouldn't run it because it's still a boring, pointless raid. The point of this game is to be entertaining. You talk about the xp being the motivator for vons, but most of the vons I do is after I'm capped, and my destinies have long since been capped. I do the quest because it's fun. I do Fall of Truth because it's fun. I even do Reaver's because the puzzle is fun.

And with the glut of raid timers on the market if Citw gave that much XP it would be one of the most run raids in the game and you would see LFMs for it constantly.
Seems it isn't totally dead yet, ended up in a run yesterday and bagged my 2nd Celestia. CitW loot may not be endgame, but its still good for the ETR game.
i was thinkin around 100k is what it is worth...+ some bonus' i guess,if deserved. I'm not tellin players what to like;just suprised that so many are vocal in hating CITW.I feel players like von5 cause they don't have to do squat most of the dungeon...wow,sik dungeon/sarcasism meter max/ ,all u need is a trapper and be able to count with the party on levers.Guess players like simple ,to match their IQs..hellmost use a prebuild character model;some free thinkin there!,hehe.Sayin CiTW laggs or whatever is bull..i see the other raids lag/boot players in sequence too. This depends on mass visual spell affects/enemy spawns, overloading graphics, and local internet connections affect alot too.
YOu need more coordination for von5 than you need for citw.
What do you need for citw?
Tell ana to suck balls, beat on belly, kill legs, beat more, kill opts, beat belly, get pk up, kill them at the same time and that is it.
Notice the pattern, just kill, nothing else to do in citw.
Oh, VoN 5. What a wonderful raid. You don't have to kill anything. Sure, all you have to do is: know your way and loot.
Seriously, people keep saying that VoN 5 is a really fun raid. What exactly is the fun element? It seems like a completely ordinary quest except for the size of the dungeon. Do traps, kill stuff, take ring, take voice, find 2 WIZ and 2 STR people, find a way to jump without using levers, let someone that knows how to turn the wheels, do tile puzzle, stay there to kill mobs, turn 4 levers to propell someone that knows up, do traps, fight boss.
That's pretty much IT. What is the fun part?
The only fun I can have in this raid is:
1. If I'm the trapper. Feels like needed.
2. If fun people are in it. And LFMs constantly popping up means that fun people will eventually run it.
I bet if CitW had as many XP as VoN 5 many would run it, and that means many fun people would run it and that means it would become fun
By the way, I'm not saying VoN is a bad raid, just an average raid. Not that AWESOME. Abbot, VoN6, Reaver (when you actualy SOLVE the puzzle and SAVE the dead), Shroud, etc. are actually FUN raids. Because they have a chance of something not going perfectly as planned and as someone had mentioned in the forums once, you get to play a "hero" to save the day (and that, among other things, is a major fun factor).
My main server is Khyber. Have toons in almost every server for favor purposes. The Faltouts
Von5 doesnt have ******** npc, von5 doesnt have instakill mechanic(fall off ledge=dead), von5 doesnt have sp drain.
I bet if citw had double the xp of von5, people still wouldnt run it as much as von5.
Also I want someone to explain to me what is so fun in citw?
You people keep mentioning von5 and how it has good xp etc, but nobody has mentioned why citw is good to run.
What is fun part in citw?
Also dont forget that citw requires 11 quests to flag for it while von5 requires 4 quests that most will probably do at heroic.

I kinda like CITW when with a coordinated group. If you get people who refuse to work with the group and don't appear to understand the mechanics then it can be a bit tiresome.
All in all I find it a fun raid. And these days EH is pretty easy if people pay attention to a good leader.
An increase in raid XP would make a lot of sense. Say to at least 4x current base. I can think of no reason why this is not already the case and it is truly detrimental to the community as a whole that this hasn't happened.
On Cannith, Caught in the Web and Fall of Truth are both considered among our "old faithfuls" due to our tendency to run these raids nearly every Saturday (if no other raid plans are in place).
As far as the raid goes, Caught in the Web is one I actually run purely for fun. The mechanics of the raid itself are rather "meh," but I do enjoy the scenery and hanging out with my friends. As an added bonus, I started a tradition long ago of kicking Elminster in the spheres for piking.

LONG COMES THE NIGHT!
Is it dead...not really more like in the ICU on life support and the doctors are talking about removing the feeding tube.
Honestly...the lag/bugs/setup of this raid is horrid...I hated it since the first run. Yet...when a guildie needs it...I run it...but I won't go out of my way to run it nor join a PUG for it.
Raider's Boxes pretty much ended it for me...most of my toons had exactly what they wanted and a couple extra items...then the boxes and I went..oh well save them in case of need later
like it or not, rewards need a tweak....i met players who pulled nothing in 30 + runs. Also it seem to me,the 1st player or two who open chests 1st seem to always get a comm.I been trying this out and my comm drop rate on hard is like 80% if i open a certain chest 1st.Just drop 1 comm mandatory and boost xps...i haven't lagged more than a minor spurt in citw since I reduced my draw distances
