It's easier to rage, critizie, and complain, than to find or work towards a solution for any given challenge unfortunately.
Just a few things to think of:

1.) Not everybody has evasion on the toon. No, "get yoursel evasion" is not the answer.
2.) Not everybody wants to bring in a healer just for a single trap just to rez the toon once beyond the trap.
3.) No, lv. 28 gear just to be able to run a lv. 24 quest is not the answer either.

So either the pack gets done as lv. 28 (obviously not) or the lv. 30+ traps, air ship damage and mob spawining mechanics gets toned down to something a lv. 24-lv.25 geared toon (or group thereoff) can do. No, I am not taking about EE, I am talking about EH.

But, otherwise, the e-pack is nice and I really enjoy e3bc.

Lots of good features in the new chain including:

    1. Easy way to teleport to quests, thanks for listening on this issue
    2. Precious Cargo is a fantastic quest
    3. Garl and Ghost are both pretty good XP per min quests and worth adding to the eTR rotation especially with the teleport feature
    4. Nice new items and bta, yah!
    5. Love the rare airship mechanic everything about it is cool from the bombards to the ballista to the grappling hooks.
    6. High DC traps so the divine grace transferbots can't just run thru them imperviously, their tears of complaint are wonderful to hear. More traps like this please.
    7. Massive ballista damage in Storm the Beaches, I like a quest where you have to actually play tactically and can't just charge
    8. A very well thought out and option orientated swashbuckler prestige tree

All in a lot of good things to bring to the game. If some want to run it only one week and go back to do doing spies in the house and wiz king every day so be it but I like the pack.

    /signed except for 6 and 7.

6 - If high DC to get thru, make them please able for on level toons to disarm. What are they worth if an exceptional 90+ search trapper cannot find them?
7 - Quest is Lv. 20 on EN. I can understand them Ballistas firing like crazy on EE. But on EN or EH oneshoting the usual lv. 20-lv22 toon, this is out of bounds. By the way, they can even fire behind themselfs - happened to me today. So even coming from above by the wildman path does not help...

I believe I was able to find and disable the traps... but it seemed that someone ahead of me had set most of them off already and I usually found blown trap boxes.

I would need to experiment to see what is really intended there. My best guess is that they need to be disabled before someone sets them off.

My search and disable seemed fine... but maybe it needs to be higher to get most of the ones that show up as blown boxes... not sure.

But I disabled many traps in there with less than 90.

Save DCs also varied. Most were a non-issue for my toon.
But three of note that seem unsavable. (18 + 75 fail!)

Spear spikes where you drop down... unassumingly there is a safe path. One guy seemed to make it, but maybe he just ressed at bottom and I didn't notice.

Fire traps closer to end, that you have to get through to pull a lever. Again, I think it is doable if you are careful. And both times I did the quest, someone made it with ease.

Then there is those floor blades in the enemy ship engine room..... seems they can be jumped over and timed too... but that one doesn't make sense to me why the saves are impossibly high. The other two seem to be to force you to try to navigate them as part of the "proof of your worth."

No hire, no evasion and no problem. 2nd life 32 pt build with 1 ETR.

I didn't list everything I used per say, but here is how I got thru it:

    Just say no to evasion!

Trap DC (to avoid dmg with evasion + reflex) is definitely too high (80 wasn't enough on EH).
I assume the intend was to encourage grouping, but currently most rogues will fail on spike traps, so grouping won't help much in this case, sadly.
    It should be this way:
    - most groups with a rogue (or trapper + reflex toon) should succeed.

My first lifer lvl 21 toon was able to search and disable all traps on EH in Prove Your Worth (no skill boosts used). He has 76 search and 70+d20 disable (no trap boxes failed).
The real challenge is spiked traps, other traps can be dealt with (unless doing EE, haven't tried it yet, so can't tell the numbers).

Used Energy Sheath (fire) for the 1st lever. Then you turn right towards the other lever accross the way and those wall traps are shooting darts. Used Cannith Boots of Propolsion to get to that 2nd lever.

    It was easy.

EDIT ~ To the peeps that haven't run the new content yet, I'm sorry for the spoiler info. I don't like to know the score of the game either if I haven't watched it yet. Spoils the fun of breaking down the challenge and completing on a first run. I'm sincere in my apology for spoiler material here.

I have the feeling the traps (and trap DCs) are scaling with groups. Then the argument "groups with rogue should succeed" would be moot. I soloed the EH quest w/o problems (found the traps, disarmed, did not get killed by those I did not disarm), but in group (not full, mind you, 4 players) I got slaughtered -on the same toon. Have not found any traps, got exploding boxes where I found them, got spiked... So either the scaling is going rampant or I do not know what it is. It definitively was not EE we were running, where I would have expect such a behavior of traps.

For me this update was amazing, everything I wanted from loot was there (nice options without major power creep, BtA, same item on all difficulties) all the quests were tough both solo and with a group without being ridiculous (except for perhaps the ballista, but I might learn how to avoid them). Airship battles are fun and intense, teleport to quests once completed is awesome. My favorite quest in the game might now be epic prove your worth, they were able to keep enough of the old feeling while still adding little changes to keep you on your toes, and the endboss was a wonderful example of how to increase difficulty without just over-inflating hp/damage/saves. Overall an A+ update.

Agreed. I ran the entire chain last night with a party of four. It took a bit of time, we had some close calls, but after it was over we all agreed how much fun it was. I'll definitely go back, as the loot is nice for mid-level epic characters and it was fun.

I enjoy the explorer area, as well. I've soloed an airship on my dagger thrower but it's much easier with two or more, with at least one manning a ballista. Not me. I still have to get the hang of it .

    Thanks, Turbine!

Oh, and btw, the music is fantastic
Aezechiel (Caster, 8th life) - Kakophonyc (Bard, 2nd life) - Larsenkarden (Cleric, 3rd life) - Lewela (Bard, 6th life) - Punkcanard (dual deathnip centered halfling tempest 3rd life) - Usuldur (Melee, completionist) - Sylentbob (ranger) ... and a couple of mules

    agree with op.

    loving e3bc!

Made better by cooperative communicating and cooperating prior to going live. aka 'Teamwork' between the game and the gaming community.

yes - wish their was a direct link from ship to 3BC public - but minor inconvenience.

Keep this up for epic Orchard!

One of the best Epics yet.
The only people I have seen who don't like this are those that either love Von3/5 (they just need xp) or the new deatwyvrm raid (they like grind for the best loot), and thus for them, the life of this pack is just 1 week since it doesn't have either the best loot or the best xp.
But game-play wise, this is one of the best update, keep up the good work.

I understand that new update is fun and all, but I don't say they are doing hard work. I wish they would fix many bugs possible each update.
Because, I can't use specific spell correctly(its been a year and 4 month, no fixs) on my class and that takes away most of my fun time. Same goes to many other bugs. I expect many other good MMO companies to bring something new surprising for their customers. And I like it, there is really nothing special about this update that let me say "omg thank you so much, wohoo! it's been 8 years, finally best update ever!!"

    Of course not!

If you like the game you are a fanboi or a DEV with an alt account.

Haven't you gotten the memo? You are not allowed to enjoy the game you are playing you are suppose to hate it while you play it.
