How long do new ones last?
Out of all the bugs in all the updates to date and all the bad decisions I think messing with our guild ships just killed what was left. I mean ok add new ships if you want that's ok BUT keep the old system. As in old system I mean a discount for trade in, guild level restricted ships (Stormglory Series) And KEEP the old Buffs, as someone has already said once our mailbox expires in the cargo hold we will then have to pay Astral Shards to have a mailbox on the ship. Myself and a lot of other folks have put up with a lot of chit from the developers and Turbine But messing with my ship and its buffs is going to far. If anything would make me want to quit this game then THIS may be it.
Actually with the "Robin Hood class" and the complaint of your OP I did figure you to be one of the millennial generation. However if you're older than that and have no concept of hard work to get the rewards (in life and in game) then I have no words for how wrong that is.
Also you're being very negative on tactics that you haven't even tried yet (least not in earnest after going through this thread). If you believe in defeat you'll find it...
However, excuse me but I'll go enjoy the ship that me and my guildies built with all our hard earned shards and plat.
I think it is important to keep perspective on this issue.
It currently IS very expensive to populate the ships, but that is simply due to having access instantly to so many of them. The way it was planned and executed was for incremental unlocks as a guild levels up. In such a situation, the plat/AS cost is spread out much more, and they are still permanent once purchased; so ultimately, we are dealing with a short term problem.
-Anything is possible....if you don't understand the problem.
-Better to be perceived a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.
-Luck is simply a crossroads between circumstance and knowledge, both are things you can control.
And since the AS ships can be bought out of order and I can go directly to the best if I want to, the price is even not too bad at all. We are simply not supposed to have everything immediately. By the way, the new thingies cost my guild about 3 million plat so far - something I had just to go in with my main toon and donate. Plat is really a no-issue for any 2nd lifer in epic.
Aezechiel (Caster, 8th life) - Kakophonyc (Bard, 2nd life) - Larsenkarden (Cleric, 3rd life) - Lewela (Bard, 6th life) - Punkcanard (dual deathnip centered halfling tempest 3rd life) - Usuldur (Melee, completionist) - Sylentbob (ranger) ... and a couple of mules

Any guild leader views their airship as their baby just as a Captain see's his ship. Now when you go messing with our baby then you've gone too far. Fine make a crappy pack epic (3bc) I don't care. Add new ships, that's fine. Add new buffs, even better. BUT DONT GO MESSING WITH MY SHIP.

I don't think they are that expensive in the long run. My guild is basicly a two man guild and we've bought most the stuff we wanted so far (we're around lv 46). I don't see why peeps are complaining about a one time expendature. We play -casually- (only on weekends and typically just saturday) and have plat to spare. Heck, my guildie is a AH addict when leveling and spends most of his and still has extra.
Dunno what I can tell ya.
If they had changed the way the "I'm in a club all by myself and don't want anyone around me" ships buffs worked and their cost then I would probably be upset too.
In a guild though with multiple players chipping in for the betterment of the group and not having to renew them all the time I think that it's appropriate. I mean maybe scale a bit for new guilds, but what do you do when they get bigger? If I bought a buff for 30k when there were only 10 members and I grew to 100 members would it then charge me more (the difference) to keep working? Seems complex. A small guild can work together to start getting buffs. Maybe you don't get them all day 1, but nothing should be handed out to anyone day 1.
As I understood it the whole point of a guild and guild ships was to get people to interact together outside of PUGs. Another way to bond the players. Rewarding single person guilds goes against that strategy. In fact to stay a single person guild you have had to basically tell everyone else to sod off and find their own way. It's no one's fault but your own that you're in this situation. Sorry.
What have you been doing with your Plat?
Since transferring across from the Codemasters run severs when it went F2P, between the Wife and I we've just over 12mil in Plat. I don't play the AH or mess around with the specialist venders. Everythin sold to a barkeep. Admittedly my gear is probably fairly rubbish compared to most but still.....
Not intending to be rude (apologies if it comes across that way) just honestly interested
