Default A reasonable request to the Devs

When the next patch is released myself and MANY other players have a few requests.

    1. Stock the Auction House! Testing level 29 areas with mismatched level 20 gear from the Dojo Treasure Room floor just doesn't work. A script that auto stocks it every other week would save some time maybe?

    2. An NPC like Meepo or a place in the Auction House to get the new gear and ingredients. We would love to test these things out but not all of us are lucky enough to be on during the periods of time that the Devs are.

    3. Don't know if this will fly but the door to Eveningstar that was in the Dojo for a while was great and saved time. Can we get it back perminently? As well as the Forge and crafting table for Thunderholme and House Cannith.

These are the only 3 requests I can think of at the moment but please add any you may have to this thread. Players please post a reply if you agree and maybe we can get the point across after so many have requested these things under other topics.

Remove all the items in the dojo and replace them with 14 brand new vendors, one for each item type, that offer every named item in the game of that type using a barter interface:

    Hat vendor
    Goggles vendor
    Necklace vendor
    Cloak vendor
    Bracers vendor
    Glove vendor
    Belt vendor
    Boot vendor
    Ring vendor
    Trinket vendor
    Weapon vendor
Armor vendor (includes robes and docents)
    Weapon vendor
    Shield vendor

Next, add in one vendor for every crafting system who sells you ALL mats for that crafting type plus also has a barter interface to do the actual crafting. (Sort of like how the cannith crafting vendors sell you decon materials as one option and also sell you purified dragonshards from a separate barter interface.) These vendors would include, but not necessarily be limited to: (Each system is a separate vendor.)

    Greensteel
    Alchemical
    Thunderforge
Epic (sells all shards, seals and scrolls in the game. Buy base items from the named item vendors above)
    Incredible Potential
    Sora Kell
    Dragonscale
    Dragontouched
    Unraveling Enchantments
    Dampened
    Suppressed Power
    Nearly Finished
    Stormreaver upgrades
    Abbot upgrades
    Crystal Cove
    Mabaar
    Risia

Add in commendation stacks (heroism, villagers, war wizards, etc...) on the ground somewhere similar to how platinum is laying around.

And finally, add "Gain 100,000 crafting xp in all schools" as an option to the xp dude. Currently you only need ~80k to max out your crafting, but if cannith crafting ever got extended (ha!) then you could just keep talking to him until your crafting was maxed.

This would serve two purposes. One, it would let people reproduce non-lootgen gearsets for any level and for any build they could ever want to reproduce should character copy stop working. Second, implementing this would drive the point home to the dev team how ridiculous having all these different crafting systems is and possibly give them some motivation to do something about it.

That seems like a LOT of work BUT in the long run the Devs would never have to worry about stocking the Auction House, Dropping Loot (other than specials), and could spend more time doing other things that need to be done. Excellent idea!!

a lot of work I would think but it would be a good substitute for character copy. I would log onto Lamma than.
    Gary Gygax quotes

The essence of a role-playing game is that it is a group, cooperative experience.

There is no winning or losing, but rather the value is in the experience of imagining yourself as a character in whatever genre you are involved in, whether its a fantasy game, the Wild West, secret agents or whatever else. You get to sort of vicariously experience those things.

Role-playing isn't storytelling. If the dungeon master is directing it, its not a game.

When AI approximates Machine Intelligence, than many online and computer run RPGs will move toward actual RPG activity. Nonetheless, that will not replace the experience of "being there" anymore than seeing a theatrical motion picture can replace the stage play.

The secret we should never let the game masters know is that they don't need any rules.

Those are all great ideas!!!!!! It has been very hard trying to run the thunderforge area with gear that doesnt match the levels for running the area. I think that the eveningstar door in the dojo was awesome!!!
The auction house really needs to be restocked, please figure out a code that will automatically do that.

As far as Guilds.... There needs to be an NPC that can give your guild the full XP needed to reach lvl 100 so that people who want to see what its like running a guild can do so with out having to wait WEEKS for Devs to respond or even just ignore requests on the forums and private messages. If you want people to test these things then you really should figure out how to help us test. We have given you some great ideas, now all we need is for you to help us help the game. The ideas that we have given you will also help you spend time on things that need the Devs attention more than stocking the auction house.

Please dont forget the shards. Add somewhere an NPC which gives out Astral Shards.

True, you can buy AS from the store, but with Sir Poincelot on strike its quite difficult to get the TP for that...

THis really would work. I was thinking they should stock Meepo with all named items (including gs components and the like since they count as special loot), remove all the spawn triggers in the loot room, move the guide to between the small cluster of trainers, remove the other trainers, and add random lootgen to meepo in an option as well. This way most of what people would want to test with is next to coin and training is pretty motionless. You could also make the loot room a closable encounter room, where mobs of various types are spawned around the perimeter and have normal mob ai and abilities.

Either way, these tweaks to the dojo, much like putting the dojo in place will greatly accelerate the depth and detail of feedback; always helping the players and developers communicate changes and direction more readily and easily.
