Default High Lords will host epic Vault of Night teaching raid on Saturday, April 12 at 8pm

Our last teaching raid epic Chronoscope was a big success! CLICK HERE to read about it!

As I have gotten to know some of the people that are joining our teaching raids, I have found it remarkable that some of them have played for a long time, years even, and have never raided until now. I am really happy that these events have encouraged people to give raiding a try and I hope others will think about joining our events as well. Our teaching raids have been friendly and a lot of fun and will give those new to raiding a solid enough foundation to comfortably go into a pug raid without feeling lost. Even if you feel you aren't skilled enough as a player or maybe you think you're not geared well enough, that's ok, these events are for you and I will make sure there are enough experienced players in them to balance things out.

Next in our series of teaching raids will be epic Vault of Night and Plane of Night (aka EV5-6) on Saturday, April 12 at 8pm EST!

This event is for players newer to the raiding scene or players that are looking to learn raids better. First timers welcome! Dbags not welcome. Please have sound and be willing and able to follow instructions.

The goal is to welcome newer players into the raiding scene, to teach people how raids work, to get players more comfortable with raids, and to enhance the Sarlona community.

If you are new to EV5-6, you will need to flag by running the first 4 quests in the Vault of Night story arc (aka VON1-4) in House Kundarak: Tharashk Arena, The Prisoner, Jungle of Khyber and Haywire Foundry. You will need to have access to the Vault of Night adventure pack. You can run the flagging quests on heroic or epic difficulty and flag just the same.

EV6 contains some remarkable loot, including one of the most sought after 2-handed weapons in the game (the Epic Sword of Shadows) and Kundarak Delving Boots, which is one of only 3 items in the game (the only non-weapon item) that provides a continuous Freedom of Movement effect.

If you would like to reserve a space in this Saturday's EV5-6, please contact me in game on Gingerspyce.

Thanks for all the support and special thanks to DDOCast and DDO Chronicle for mentioning our events. We hope to see you in raids soon!

I feel that I speak for more than 1 person when I say we can overlook this You and the The High Lords of Malkier have made Sarlona a better place to play by shedding light on these raids.

    /clap and /cheer

Also if any Sarlonians are online PST evenings this week and need help flagging for the weekend I'm game. Although I'm not a big fan of VONs 2 and 4, I do heart the raids. If you need VON 1-4 to flag for the raids look me up. If you need to fill a group or don't want to solo. Even if it's only VON 4 (gags in bag, but asks, "Excuse me, could I please have some moar?" with the look of having just ate the world's finest chocolate ; )

We still have a couple spots open for the EV6 teaching raid. I'm really glad that we're getting a lot of the same people to join every week, but we want to see some new people join us too. Don't be shy, our teaching raids have been a lot of fun for everyone and we will teach you the ins and outs of all facets of each week's raid, much more so than you'd learn in most pugs! First timers always welcome and encouraged to join us

Great idea! I wish such a thing existed on all servers. Especially Argo

I was fortunate enough to get in on a Chrono "loot run" as a first timer couple of days ago. It really took the pressure off to have a couple of high level veterans explain and teach as we went.

It was a real positive. Now I am confident to go into a PUG at level and sort of have an idea whats going on.

I didnt get any XP but I did get some nice raid loot!

I am one of the frequent attendees on these training raids, and I've had nothing but great experiences. The High Lords are a friendly team, and Nachomammashouse/Gingerspyce does a great job of explaining what is going to happen, the reasons why, and takes the time to make sure everyone is on board for each stage. VON in particular is a larger/longer raid and people like to blitz through it, so it seems like an especially good one to visit this way. If you have any interest in getting started on raiding or just want to see content that you normally might be afraid to jump into, then this is a great, low stress & no drama opportunity to do so. Do eet!

I am glad flagging on heroic allows epic 5 and 6. Makes it pretty easy to just join instead of having to flag.

    Default Velah: slain!!

EV6 was a good time, we had 4 people that were new to the raid and there was much rejoicing!! Big thanks to my guildies for helping out, as this is not a raid that I normally lead, so they had to check my work a few times lol

The Saturday night crew feasted on red dragonsteaks!!

I will be out of town next week, so no teaching raid on the 19th. So our next teaching raid will be on Saturday, April 26th. We've had several requests for another abbot run, so our next teaching raid will be abbot!! You've got 2 weeks to flag folks so get to it! I will post more details on the Sarlona forum when I get back in town
