Hello newer players, or older players who want some help (Or to give it, or just some company). So...a while back Qye wanted to start a help channel where people could go to get some advice, answers, whathave you. He asked me to join him, and I like meeting people, so there I am. Then Qye has left the game as far as I can tell, and about six to ten of us remain with this channel. Well, someone thought we should advertise to the newer players that we're here and do something with it (While making moon eyes at me), so I can take a hint. I'm not going to laugh at newb questions, we all started knowing only the title of the game and the name of our toons. I personally tend to be around between 4p and 10p eastern time these days if anyone would like help with anything from me.
Help is meant to be a public channel where players can get advice. We don't know every last detail, but the aggregate knowledge is pretty good. We're happy to help answer questions. This is not a channel for begging for loot/plat/whathave you, but we will be happy to help you figure out how to get loot/plat/whathave you. Right now it's a very nice and civil channel, but making it really public like this I sadly can't guarantee that will last. But honestly, most of Sarlona are decent folk with pleasant manners. User channels are mot moderatable, but you can squelch anyone who isn't polite to you.
If you don't know how to use user defined channels, here is a primer.
In your general tab, type /joinchannel help If you have never joined a user channel, it will auto assign it to userchat 1.
To type, you can use /1 *message*.
It will appear in your general chat. TO get it to appear on another tab, like guild or party for example for those like me that tend to not use the general chat tab, you must right click on the tab name, and select "Set Incoming Text Types" and click on Userchat 1 to select it. Then the chat will appear in that window. You should NOT mess with Set Outgoing Text Types, as that will change the basic shortcut such as /g would go to help instead of guild.
Everyone is welcome! I look forward to meeting anyone who'd like to join us!

ETA: Feel free to share this information in game with anyone you see who is newish or struggling (or even just needs to meet some other players!)
