    Default Hold up!

    I was hyped thinking I'd finally found an answer to my fighters weakness.
    Unfortunately the Eternal Flask of Free Movement does not stop hold spells.
    let me guess. WAI right?

    Like the spell of the same "function". If at least the spell / flask gave some bonus on the saves against hold...

    It's for the same reason my Bard's Song of Heroism doesn't prevent fear.

    Expect a hotfix in 2017.

    WAI.

    There was a time when FOM worked as you expected, but as it became clearer to Turbine that certain spells made the "game unbalanced" they were modified.

    Not WAI.
    FoM does protect against hold and so should the flask.

    I guess the flasks have the same problem like most potions...(protection against evil, greater heroism)

    Perhaps slightly off topic, but I have a pair of Spiked Boots:



    When I cast Freedom of Movement, the buff does not show up on my character. It does appear when I cast FoM on others. I think this has only been since the update, as previosuly the buff would appear even while I wore the boots.

    Do these boots provide the same benefit as FoM? I did not assume so, as the description is not the same.

    You should read what the developer PURPLEFOOZ says about FOM.

    PurpleFooz is aware of FOM not working properly. It just is not a high priority for the team to change the spell, but the team can make items work the way they want.

    I thought something was wrong, when my hard earned flask was clearly not working properly...

    ...Is my money on high priority for them? Cause they won't get anymore of it, at this rate...

    After motu heal amp stacked additively instead of multiplicatively. It's been fixed.

    This has been the case since epic GH u19. And that is the time FoM broke.

    Its my understanding (and I could be wrong), that you don't actually lose fom when wearing the boots. Anything that makes you immune to slippery surfaces, like grandmaster of flowers enhancements, will prevent the buff from showing up, but its still active and working.

    Yeah, we don't read that thread the same at all.

    Therein,
    @fTdOmen first stated, "While your at it, did you know that freedom of movement still makes us completely immune to hold spells! Surely something has to be done about this to make enemy creation easier."

    PurpleFooz replied, "This is on our todo list, but we aren't slated to get to it for U19. It's not a high priority for us to nerf you guys!"


    Which to me says that in his mind FoM is working fine, but that they plan/may nerf it in the future, but that is not a current priority.

    I'm wondering if there is a dev that could tell us what FoM is supposed to do according to their plan. If it isn't supposed to stop hold spells and it no longer stops earthgrab and it never stopped spell wards, is it basically just an anti-grease spell?

    I'm serious when I ask this. What is it supposed to prevent?
