Default I need some help on mking a 32 pt Assassin build.

I have been playing for 8 months now.I am a casual player play about 3 to 4 times a week for 2 to 3 hrs. And honestly I am about turned off from game bacause of the advice I get on my lvl 25 32 point build.Assassin/shadowdancer rogue. One person tells me to take dex and dex for damage another says go primary Int for assassinate Dc's. yet another says on a 32 point build on EE missions and some EH missions assassinate wont work unless your dc Is 65 and mine maxxed out with all Int Is 51 with a +6 stealthy dc to assassinate. I guess what I am asking Is what stat spread should I use on an assassin build? I really want the assassinate and dps from sneak attk but I also dont know what to do with dex/Int ratio. Any advice on building a good assassin would be appreciated or am I wasting my time doing epics with assassin as I do duo with a hireling 70% time. I know I gotta sound dumb but I am at wits end trying to figure out a good assassin rogue build. Any advice would be appreciated. I read so many different builds and how one says this another says that I am confused.

The basic rationales behind STR vs DEX vs INT for rogues hasn't changed much; the main difference is DEX-based Assassin/Acro rogues are a lot less gimp than they used to be thanks to Dagger in the Back and Stick Fighting.

Maxing out your Assassinate DCs is basically a matter of maxing your INT (duh) and picking up a few DC bonuses, like Measure the Foe, Stealthy from Shadowdancer, and gear; eMidnight is +2, the necklace Dark Diversion in Temple of the Deathwyrm is +4 (AFAIK gear bonuses don't stack).

ok I am glad you helped me make some sense of this. the gear and weapons like epic Midnight greetings and Dark Diversion necklace will also add to the assassinate skill. I will check on those leads you gave me and I thank you for your input. I do have the enhancements you mentioned but I am lacking the gear. and forgot about using ship buffs. Time for me to study some ddo wiki.

Go full INT based for your Assassinate DC and then use DEX as your secondary stat. You can then use DEX to hit and damage thanks to enhancements and you should have a pretty good Assassinate DC, at this point I wouldn't worry about Epic Elite the difference between EE and EH is huge.

Check the link in my signature about a build I put together which should hopefully give you some ideas, any questions just drop me a PM or something

If you have access to Amrath, you can also stock up on Yugo pots for another +1 DCs, tho the -50% fortification sux.

Also remember that Assassinate is a Fort save, so anything you can do to debuff it will help, like Heartseeker poison, CON dmg (is WoP finally useful again?), Imp Sunder, and Shattering.

Here my Halfling assassin build. Put all level up into Int for assassinate DCs. Starting with a high dex for TWF and Improved Sneak attack. Now this is a 36 point build so you would have to make some adjustment for a 32 point build, but might give you some ideas.

I like having both Precision & Power Atk on my rogues: Prec for high-Fortification targets like constructs & undead; PA for everything else. But if you decide to drop PA, you can drop STR to start DEX 18 INT 18.

Even w/out metamagics, the halfling DMs can provide useful heals; plus it gives you something to spend APs on to unlock higher tiers of Guile.

You'll want 21 dex for improved sneak attack, so just try to get there with starting dex, tomes, and the fewest level ups needed based on the other two. Beyond that, try to max your int as much as possible.

If you mentioned your race I didn't see it. But a good general starting stat distribution on a 32 point build, regardless of race, is to invest 10 points into dex, 6 into con, and 16 into int. If you have to put any level ups into dex, do so as late as you can. By putting level ups into int first you get more skill points to spend during heroic levels. Just make sure you have 21 dex by the time you want to take improved sneak attack.

Balancing dps, survivability, and DCs on an assassin can be tricky, especially on a first life, but it is definitely possible. If it's a build you enjoy playing, then don't let others convince you that it's not viable. Figure out where your weaknesses are and how to improve them. If you want to provide more build info (race, starting stats, level ups, feats, enhancements, and gear) I'm sure we can help you figure out ways to improve it.

Check out Hassan's Assassin in my sig. It is a 36 point build designed for EE content so it may not fit your goals exactly, but it should give you some things to consider. You will also find an assassinate DC breakdown that should give you some idea on how to boost your DC.
    Totally Bass Ackwards ~ int based/heavy armored pure tempest<>The Count of Monte Cristo ~ dps/CC/survivability focused pure swashbuckler<>Santa's Little Slayer ~ dragonmarked elf centered kensai<>Hassan's Assassin ~ 76 DC/dps/survivability focused human assassin<>Dubbell O'Seven ~ casting/ranged WF artificer

So wonderful all the help I am getting on this. Thank you and everyone else so much. I took human because of extra skill feat and even stats. On tr I am thinking halfling for sneak attk bonus. My core stats at lvl 1 32 point build are str 11 dex 16 con 13 Int 18 wis 8 cha 8 now my Int at lvl 25 Is 31 and dex Is 35. My AC Is 61 with shadowdancer. I switched Int for dex on enhancements and shadowdancer and dreadnaught enhancement tree feats because with weapon finesse and dex for dmg feats on sneak attk I have noticed a good gain In dmg with precision. esp on undead which Is my bane. traded out cleave and gr8 cleave because seems like as a twf that those feats only work well on small groups of mobs and not well on undead or single enemies. I been using precision with bluff and sneak attk don't always work on certain things and I know I am not a great DPS person In str8 melee combat but I have noticed more dps gain since I have taken these 2 feats. tomorrow I will do a complete breakdown of my toon from lvl 1 to lvl 25. I do like fact I got her HP from 505 to 620 when I use dreadnaught tree and maxxed out con/false life items. on TR. I also do have power attk after I got a +2 tome of str. seems to benefit me well.

OK this Is starting base which I did at lvl 4 str 13 . Dex 16. Con 14. Int 20. Wis9. Cha8. Now add shadowdancer tree I can go with stealthy which I have that adds a +6 to dc to assassinate and I can max out Int at 41 or dex at 36. I have not counted +2 and +3 tomes of Dex, Int, and Con. And on shadowdancer tree I pretty much do all Dex or Int and few other feats with left over points to spend like stealthy and Technician.

Almost forgot I am human race for extra feat, even point build, and seems to be beginner friendly for first timers.
