    Default Elf Monksai Build Help

So I used a character planner and this is what I got. Is this a good build? I'm also planning to take the GoF Epic Destiny with this.

EDIT: Dexterity build, after getting Aerenal grace, reincarnate to dump STR to 12 for OTWF. Use free feat token to trade out Whirling Steel Strike after getting One with the Blade

Rapiers beat longswords, so I would build for them instead. That also lets you get DEX-to-dmg with longbows, so you can add a ranged option.

Considering adding rgr to the mix; have a look at Santa's Little Slayer. Or if you want to keep Imp Evasion, consider monk 9 / ftr 8 / rgr 3: it looks odd, but the rgr splash gets you 3 free feats, +10% offhand from Tempest (stacks w/Deft Strikes for 100% total w/GTWF), plus whatever else you can add from rgr PrEs. Add PBS/Manyshot/Zen Archery for ranged burst DPS.

EDIT: I'm also not sure why you went with so much WIS.

I didn't want to add an extra class in, and Heavy Blades Weapon Focus doesn't cover Rapiers. Using longsword mainly for WSS and building on Heavy Blades focus. I wanted to make a pure DEX melee that doesn't focus much on ranged attacks, as well, using the elven enhancement line to make DEX an actual damaging stat.

EDIT: I added WIS because it's an important stat for monks. The main focus of this build was to add better DPS and more feats to the monk, considering the longsword dishes out a good amount of damage, using Earth Stance to dish out better critical hits, when needed, and Wind Stance for clearing out weak mobs. I didn't want to add ranged because I'm already building another ranged build, and melee is pretty much the only way to go with my party, since they all chose to be bloody casters. Adding an extra class also limits me from using the stronger Monk stances as well

The most glaring issue is your 12 CON. You will regret that like a habenero contest at 3am. I'm not sure why your INT is so high; I would dump that or just put a couple points in for skill points and put the rest into bringing CON up to 16. Even being a monk, you still probably don't need such a high WIS either since you aren't fighting unarmed and relying on stunning fist and such. You can take a couple points out of that too.

Why the emphasis on heavy blades? If it's just for flavor, then go for it. But if your goal is dps, longswords are a poor choice and khopeshes are no longer top dps at endgame. There are no really good named longswords or khopeshes at endgame. During heroics you are better off going with fists over longswords since they have an inherent 10% attack speed boost. If your goal is epic/endgame content then Balizarde (which is a rapier) is going to give you the highest dps. It has the crit profile of an eSoS and you can dual wield them.

I also wanted a primarily melee build using the advantages of elf (mostly the dragonmark for displacement, dex to damage was just icing on the cake). That was my main goal with Santa's Little Slayer. It has ranged as a backup, so I basically only use it for furyshot.

Wisdom on monks is primarily for monk tactics, which you don't have. It does affect your ki, but I started with a 9 on Santa's Little Slayer and have a full ki bar almost constantly even though I spam earth attacks and keep shadow veil up. You can safely dump wis.

I take only a few ranged feats on Santa's Little Slayer. If you want to go all out melee, you can drop those and pick up things like power critical, which would be fairly beneficial on that build. I wanted to have a ranged option but you could build an even more effective melee by dropping that.

Ranger offers a lot more than just a ranged option. Some free twf feats and an extra 10% offhand attacks goes a long way. That 10% stacks with shintao's deft strikes allowing you to get 100% offhand attacks.

Unbongwah's suggestion of 3 ranger is a solid option. It gets you all the best melee benefits of ranger and still gives you improved evasion.

The monk stances can now be purchased as feats as long as you have 1 level of monk, so you don't have to worry about not having them. I have grandmaster stances on Santa's Little Slayer with only 6 levels of monk.

I agree that int should be dumped, there's no need for it really. 16 con is quite expensive on an elf, though. I would try to get it to 14, but 12 can be a viable option depending on the player. Especially with the inflated hp pools we have at cap now, a difference of 12-14 starting con is minimal. But as a general rule, I still recommend 14 minimum to start with.

    Hope that helps.

EDIT: I just noticed you're going with grandmaster of flowers ED. What's your goal with that choice? That ED is primarily for monk tactics. You won't get much out of it if you're not maximizing your wis. You'd be much better off in fury of the wild or legendary dreadnaught. If you want to use monk tactics on this build, I would suggest reconsidering quite a few things.
