Default Please help with kensai monk build

Hi, i am going to do my 2nd reincarnation and i planned it to be TWF Monk propably Elf using scimitars. I am thinking about something like this:

    Code:
Character Plan by DDO Character Planner Version 04.20.01
    DDO Character Planner Home Page

Level 14 Lawful Good Elf Male
    (8 Fighter \ 6 Monk)
    Hit Points: 221
    Spell Points: 20
    BAB: 12\12\17\22
    Fortitude: 14
    Reflex: 13
    Will: 7

    Level 1 (Monk)
    Feat: (Selected) Cleave
Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Sorcerer
Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Wizard
    Feat: (Monk Bonus) Power Attack

    Level 2 (Monk)
Feat: (Monk Bonus) Two Weapon Fighting

    Level 3 (Monk)
    Feat: (Selected) Deflect Arrows
Feat: (Monk Path) Path of Inevitable Dominion: Fists of Darkness

    Level 4 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Weapon Focus: Slashing Weapons

    Level 5 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Great Cleave

    Level 6 (Fighter)
    Feat: (Selected) Dodge

    Level 7 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Weapon Specialization: Slashing Weapons

    Level 8 (Fighter)

    Level 9 (Fighter)
Feat: (Selected) Improved Critical: Slashing Weapons
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Improved Two Weapon Fighting

    Level 10 (Fighter)

    Level 11 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Greater Weapon Focus: Slashing Weapons

    Level 12 (Monk)
Feat: (Selected) Greater Two Weapon Fighting

    Level 13 (Monk)

    Level 14 (Monk)
    Feat: (Monk Bonus) Toughness
But i don t know what should i do after 14. I will definitly take Master and Grandmaster of forms at 15 and 18 and i need you advice which class should i take after? Fighter won t give me much because i will be using dexterity from Ninja spy. I was wondering about taking 6 lvls Paladin for Sacred Defender to improve my survivability. What do You think?

Any particular reason you're going Elven DEX-based?

Anyway, Ranger 6 gives TWF and ITWF for free, freeing up feat slots for other stuff you might want. Also +10% offhand for a minor AP investment. Would also let you use DEX for to-hit and damage with scimitars for less AP than the Elven tree.

Paladin 2 for Divine Grace is really all you need on a DEX-build. More if you want smites, but you'll be very thin on AP between Elven Grace, Kensai T5 and Shadow Form. It should be enouh for defensve stance from Fighter, but I doubt you'll have much benefit from a deeper Paladin splash.

Another 6 Monk for Abundant Step, movement speed and Improved Martial Arts is always a safe choice.

Dex gives me AC and Reflex Save, Str - nothing. I will have Dex to dmg and atack from ninja spy and Kensei and i would like to have 8 lvls fighter and 3 lvls monk at lvl 12 because my build would work then. As you see it is pointless to me to take 6 lvls monk after because i already have Master of stance which i took at lvl 15, and pointless to take ranger because i already have TWF and ITWF. Btw i am not going to do epic lvls just another fast reincarnation

Ah, yes, that's right. Forgot that bonus applies to all piercing/slashing ki weapons and not just shortswords. It still doesn't quite explain why you would want to grab the defensive stance from SaD instead of StD, though.

Anyway, if it's just a TR at 20, then I suppose the question becomes if you'd rather have a Fighter or Monk past life, and the build has to be viable at 18.

2 Paladin levels for Divine Grace is a solid option, and leaves room for going either Monk or Fighter as dominant class. Ranger 4 still gives more off-hand hits and Ram's Might for +2 damage.

At least 3 more levels in Monk for Improved Evasion is still a decent option. 8 Fighter/9 Monk/2 Paladin would leave you the choice of using the last level for either Fighter or Monk PL.

I made something similar, but it was a halfling khopesh user. I went with 12 Monk/ 8 fighter and the damage was incredible. The 6 extra monk nets you a bunch of goodies that I enjoyed:

Wholeness of body, abundant step, +3 AC, +10% speed, Improved evasion, and better punching power (for skeleton smashing).

I'd recommend at the very least 9 monk to get improved evasion.

As for the paladin sacred defender thing, I don't think I would bother since you can always get some boosts to defense from stalwart defender anyways. However, if you do decide to do a deep splash in paladin I would suggest switching to fists of light. I find they mesh well together.

Also: why did you go with deflect arrows?
