2. As I said, there were runs every 3 days (timer) that were reliably completed by pugs. Led by a very nice tank/healer couple. Outside of that there were maybe one-two PUG postings a day for LOB during high times and they didn't usually complete or even honestly fill after a while (because of the lack of completion and because everyone wanted a different difficulty). I think there was maybe another group of europeans that ran LOB every 3 days, I once stumbled into their raid at 2am in the morning EST.
Our guild ran it twice a week every week. We ran epic for the challenge and sometimes the other difficulties to give people chances at lower level mats, but that was a whole bunch of headache of its own. Nobody who had tier 1 wanted to run the snooze-fest that is normal versus epic (pre-motu of course), but whoever needed a different weapon/new weapon or had just joined the guild was SOL or everyone had to sleep through normal... and omg how awesome the mat you wanted didn't drop anyway. You're now on timer and it was a huge waste of everyone else's time who wanted tier 2 or 3. Made you feel so good, I cannot even tell you (sarcasm fyi). I needed tier 2 and even I didn't want to do anything but epic cause you know... challenge!
I cannot claim that I always watched LFMs like a hawk every day, every minute, but I watched enough to feel confident. I also joined plenty of pugs on my other characters to know just how much pugs actually completed.
Super casual players did not even entertain the thought of running LOB because they had no interest in epic LOB (they didn't feel their gear or abilities were up to par, nor had the time maybe). If you couldn't do epic, there was very little reason to start the LOB grind, period.
