If you want to really celebrate the 40th you would do up one of the first adventures ever....either Temple of the Frog from Blackmoor or Dwarven Glory from Wee Warriors. I would prefer the former...I think it would make a pretty neat scenario.

A lot of google-ing later, the best I could find was "The set was first printed in late January 1974, and very likely was not publically available until the second quarter of 1974."

Remembering someone who had the first edition books.

Dear God, it's actually been 40 years now? I feel a little bit old.

    Ok, I'm over it!

Surprised their not selling 40th Year D&D Commemorations in game. Although if DDO makes it another 10 years they would be insane not to do the 50 year anniversary.

    Who narrated ToD?
That guy is my favorite. I especially like when he says "Eberron Burns" there.

Sorry I am disapointed in there being more realms couldnt stand them when they came out and the dislike has just grown and grown.

Bring us Greyhawk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With a side order of Blackmoor

Of course I would never say no to more Eberron it is my second fave world.(well 3rd if you count Blackmoor)

    Pretty please.

For a good expansion look to the Keep on the Borderlands(hackmaster put out a really nice varriation on that not to long ago)

or the Temple of Elemental Evil or any of the really good Judge's Guild stuff like Tegal Manor.

I try not to do the math any more. Like when I watch a movie that I like enough to rewatch when I run across it on cable - then I see the release date, and how long it's been since it came out, and... some days just not enough beer for those kinda numbers.

Even if it's only ~35 for me, it's still yucky math.

    I'm sorry, but D&D died in 2008.
