People need to calm down. This stuff happens. The devs are working hard to fix the issue. It's rough that this happened on a Friday, but it happened. You guys are making it seem like it's the end of the world.
Servers are not like desktops. It's not as easy as hitting a button. Just be patient and go play another game for a few hours. It'll give you a break from all those Epic TRs. I'm on 12, and I'm already feeling the grind pretty hardcore.
Rule number one, never follow Wobert. Rule number two, never listen to Wobert.
We apologise again for the fault in the servers Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.
The directors of the firm hired to maintain the servers after the other people had been sacked, wish it to be known that they have just been sacked.
The servers have been rebooted in an entirely different OS at great expense and at the last minute.
Cannith: Yasina, Sarasina, Treyanna, Tresina
Sarlona: Jatner, Yannow, Justanna
The last time something like this happened the servers were down for almost a week and a half.
Whoops, i was talking about those fluffy little rodents not servers
Sorry for offending anyone, that was not an intent...
I love forum judgment. People get upset when others criticize Turbine. Why does anyone care what anyone says to Turbine in the forums. It's just crack babies without their fix getting fussy. I don't even pay mind to what they write and I'm sure neither does Turbine.
But make sure we keep sticking up for those "hard working" devs.
I've seen a HP-UX server take 2 hours just to get back to command prompt, on a "clean" reboot. Mind you, with the amount of FWD SCSI cabling in there and all the various disk arrays, off old HP-PB buses, not all that surprising... it was an old (90s) Nova chassis, could've been an I30.
Mind you, those things were set up so that they DID usually bring the database back up in an usable state after a crash too, automatically... just took a bit of time. Then again, the database setup was designed for that, at the expense of some speed in normal operation.
No longer completely f2p as of November 2014. Father of 3 more DDO players so far (I do have more children than that).
Can anyone give me an update, just tried to log in and found all worlds are down. Any clue as to what is happening and how long they say it will be?
oooooh, never a good sign when a service notification gets edited to remove the end time.
notice was originally 11:30 to 12:30 -5 GMT , now it just says "from 11:30 "
Christmas Party? Someone mistake the core switch for the office photocopier ?
